they very well could have shown a picture of us tackling some OU players in CFP semi from a few years back. That would have really twisted the knife quite nicely!

Love this pic, but if memory serves, sadly, this was the sack that Shaq got injured on and left the game, right?
If we don’t lose Shaq AND Alexander, I think we beat Bama in the Championship.

You forgot Chad Morris..

Many times people succeed as a Vice-Chair or Vice President being their to support the vision of the leadership but fail miserable when taking complete control. Huge difference!
Simply look at Saban’s coaches that have left. Not saying that BV, JS and/or TE won’t be successful but the prior two that have left still lack a 10 win season and even a conference championship.
Sometimes, people are greater and far more successful being second in command. Not everyone is a Colonel.

Morris was nothing but a tool to quieten the fan base of Napier being promoted to OC when Dabo was promoted to HC. That's all Chad Morris's hire was to do. Dabo already new that he want to run a spread offense, and Morris was having some success with it at Tulsa, and while at Clemson, Dabo used The Chad to teach Jeff and Tony the ideals of the spread offense, period!!!

Coach Brent Venables has not won a game yet as a Head Coach but trust me he will win a lot of games at Oklahoma. He will make an instant impact on Oklahoma's defense and their defense has been what has cost them in the CFP playoffs. I hated to see him go but I still wish him the best at OU but not when they face CLEMSON University. GO Clemson Tigers.

Agreed. But he definitely was not thinking when he posted that.
Brent is nothing without the joes and those joes would not have succeeded as much without that defensive staff theoretically.
I would use this as a motivating factor for the defense this off-season. “Hey this defense was all BV’s doing!” What do you have to say about that?

While the banter back and forth is fun for us fans and I enjoy it ... it kind of looked like a little dig toward Clemson - like we can't play defense without Venables and Bates and Chavis.
In just a single game under Wes, we've shown that the Clemson defense is still "Alive and Well". And it appears that Nick Eason will continue to be a stellar DL coach for us.
Venables did a great job when he was here and I appreciate his work with our players .. I believe he always cared for each one and their future.
But Chavis' tweet was kind of a parting shot ... or should I say "shoat" since we appear to be adding random 'a' letters to words.
Regardless, I predict that both the Clemson and Oklahoma defenses are going to be running neck-and-neck toward the top of the class and we may even get to settle this on the field in the Playoffs.
GO TIGERS!!!!

I get what you are saying but ran him off is strong, but his Oklahoma D’s did average about 30 in the nation for scoring D in the 7 years before he came to Clemson. Not too impressive. Chavis certainly could not brag about Venables’ Oklahoma D’s. That’s for sure. He had to use Clemson stats. The Oklahoma D’s when he was working alongside Stoops averaged 6 in the nation scoring defense. Big game Bob was reuniting his bro and Venables as co-dc’s. Dabo took a big chance on Venables. My theory is he molded Venables into the coach is is here at Clemson. Venables has said as much.

Did we though?
We beat a 7-5 team without the best RB in the nation and largely without their best WR
I'm all for celebrating wins, but we shouldn't be pounding our chests over holding a bad offensive team to 13 points.

Why do people get mad at stuff like this? Both tweets are straight up FACTS, and both tweets are geared toward promoting their own brands, AS THEY SHOULD BE. In our society today, it seems no one is happy unless they have something to be pissed off about. And if they can’t find something to be pissed off about, they make up a reason to be pissed off.

When Brent left Oklahoma for Clemson their fans in Oklahoma called him Vunerables. Dabo took a chance and hired him. He then molded him into a great coach. So the rest is history.

Coach Miguel Chavis @MiguelChavis65 said on Jan 3, Men lie, women lie, numbers don’t! We aren’t leaving the defense in South Carolina baby!!!
Matthew Cooper @Matthew78123266 said on Jan 4, Lmfao imagine trying to steal credit and effort from the players that gave everything for those stats, Christ likes humbleness over here
Oklahoma fan Blake B.@blakeb066 said on Jan 6,
Guess who coached those players? Guess who’s defensive system they played under?
I said to Blake B.@blakeb066on Jan 7
The last time BV was at Oklahoma, he was being pushed out by OU idol Bob Stoops, and brother. If Oklahoman's can be honest, admit you were saying that you were happy that BV went to Clemson 10 years ago. BV became who he is now, bc Dabo allowed him to be himself, aggressive!!!
Those Oklahoma fans has already forgotten the dislike that they had for BV when he there being totally controlled by Stoops with how BV was allowed to run the defense while his brother was failing as the the HC at AZ, I think it was. And the fans were blaming BV, when it was being controlled by HC Stoops, and when he rehired his brother, he made him the leading Co DC over BV,
and that's why BV was so easy for Dabo to come into that situation, and pluck BV from OU. Dabo wanted BV bc he had witnessed how good BV could be if left alone to run his defense bc, Dabo saw and recognized the passion that BV on that side of the ball. And I truly believe that bc, Dabo left BV alone and let him do it his way, and that is the very reason that BV became the DC he was at Clemson, and it was the reason that he was so sought after in only a few years at coaching our Clemson defense. And yes, BV is who he is today as a DC bc, Dabo left him alone, and allowed him to do it his way, and he become the best, most aggressive DC in the country!!!!!!

I’m not sure anyone really knows how much Stoops was meddling in BV’s running of the Oklahoma defense? What is a fact is the 7 years BV ran the Oklahoma D, just before coming to Clemson, it was not very good (averaged about 30th in scoring nationally). The four prior years when BV ran it with Stoops and Pelini the Oklahoma D was ranked 6 in scoring on average. BV was not getting the job done at Oklahoma when Dabo came calling. It’s not crazy that sooner fans may have wanted him gone. It’s not crazy that Bob wanted his brother back involved bc their D was much better when he was co-DC with BV previously. It’s hard to believe BV thought Big game bob was a meddler, yet still went there to take the head coach job under him? Your logic doesn’t add up. BV has often said Bob Stoops is like a brother to him. I agree Dabo molded BV, but I think the logical big difference was BV simply had better players in Clemson.
