It seems like every year since its inception they get the short end of the stick in terms of seeding. everyone and their mother knew Clemson was a top 8 seed this year, but lets take a look back at the previous postseasons for Clemson
year 1: went 44-8, won the acc regular season title, lost in the finals of the ACCT, they sent us to Alabama to face the best pitcher in the country. Imo this was the most egregious. It was obvious we deserved to host
year 2: finally got our first regional, but they tried to be slick and put a ranked Auburn team in it. jokes on them, we won. got a tough draw in the supers getting OK State, a perennial power in softball and lost
year 3: Probably a year we were better of NOT hosting, as we got the 16th seed paired up with the best team of all time Oklahoma, but we almost, and probably SHOULD have beat them. probably our "worst" season yet, but still a good season.
This tiger team has gone toe to toe against some of the best teams the sport has to offer. FSU, Duke, VT, Alabama, Tennessee, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, etc. But they have never backed down and this year it is paying off. They aren't just playing these teams close, but they are BEATING them! win or lose this season it is a huge step forward for the program, because now these players know they can beat these teams. not to mention a lot of the lineup is young and only going to get better. GO TIGERS!!!!
