I’m still assigning my monthly contributions 75% to large and mid cap equities, haven’t changed that and won’t. In my brokerage account I got out of the inverse ETFs and have been holding shares of RKLB, GOOGL, and OKLO for about two weeks now, but I’m afraid we’re seeing a bear market rally. There are just too many economic headwinds to expect to push back to ATH any time soon IMO.

As long as Trump eventually backs down from his silly trade war, it shouldn't get too bad. There's a chance he goes full syphilitic though, and China responds by dumping bonds and drives yields up to historical "normal," which would drive the average P/E down to historical "normal," and result in a 40% drop in the SP500. His plan to drive up the national debt by another 10-20 trillion should have the same effect of driving yields up and average P/E down. Having a lunatic in the White House COULD be a hard lesson for us all. Even the idiots who voted for him.

Not buying single stocks. But my "professional" that is helping me with retirement indicated that for my non emergency fund, outside retirement investing, to just go with FAiAX fund.
Dont have the expertise to follow and pick stocks. Just going to go with low cost, solid performing funds. I take the route of the Turtle. I will get there one day.

Same here. I’m a turtle. When I say buying stocks I primarily mean stock funds. I just invest routinely regardless of where the market is. But I do ramp up the buying just a tad when the market is down. Always have.

10-4. I wish I could ramp up... I still have 2 kids (5&6th grade). Most extra money that I sneak way from the bank account goes to their college funds. But when the wife is not looking I try to throw a little each month in the outside brokerage account....
I usually get the stink eye.. Then I do it the next month and say, ups I forgot.

Yeah you’re in that tough stage financially. Tell the wife she’s going to love you more in 20 years.

Supply chain says 2 months. I'd wait because there will come a time

when real numbers happen from Trump's tariffs. It takes several months for the numbers to materialize when you screw with America's supply chain. It took covid a full year. Powell is actually working the problem of saving the dollar currently (buying unwanted treasuries to try and drop the yield), but he knows he will have to pivot to the next crisis, when the shelves start getting bare and small businesses close down.
Warren Buffett is still selling, and amassing more cash. Gold is still skyrocketing. The 10 year Treasury has not BUDGED since the fed started dropping rates. This means mortgage rates will remain 6-7% for a while, as it should because so much was lost on mortgages like mine. Takes probably a decade for that to slowly work out the system.
The short money says buy. But the long money has never been this bearish.

Maybe but history teaches the success rate on the “gambling” is 100%.

Maga folks always like looking in the rearview mirror.
Smart investors don’t bother with the rearview mirror. They’re looking straight out the front windshield.
It’s a new world dude.
I know the term woke scares you, but you might wanna wake up.

Actually smart investors know history is a good teacher. They also know that throughout every decade the sky is falling “this time is different” crowd panics. No it’s not a new world in terms of market investing “dude”. By the way “dude” gives me a clue of your age. Anyway, you go ahead and panic. Convince yourself the good times are gone. I’ll keep investing as I have throughout every presidency and conditions. Let’s see where we are in a year shall we ?

US equity markets have very different characteristics that we have never seen before since Trump began his second term.
Much less attractive for foreign investors.
