Dabo’s coordinators did get much of the credit for the Nattys. Dabo was often referred to as the Cheerleader, and not just by the coots. Many media members echoed that.
Personally, I think it may be a small factor in the back of his mind, but there also may be other factors like Matayo U.

Maybe. But it's just speculation. There's something going on behind the scenes, we just don't know what it is and may never know what it is. Everyone has theories about Dabo or about DJ, etc. But unless we are in those meetings and in their minds, we will never really know, just speculation.

Tony Elliott who guided our offense to major successes, with Streeter a big part of that mix, and he's doing the same thing again, but oh no this time it's his ego and he's experimenting and he's arrogant and stubborn and lost touch and blah blah blah.

After the USuC game, it definitely is something going on behind the scenes that we don't know about and will never know about. Whatever it is, we should never, never be put in that position again.

I hate to break the bad news to you but we will lose again in the future. I promise you, it will happen. Every year will not be a national championship season. While we've been incredibly consistent at the highest levels under Dabo, he is not perfect, our staff isn't perfect, and no matter how talented our roster is, they are not perfect either. Losing is part of sports. Nobody likes it, but it's part of the deal. We will absolutely, 100% guaranteed, be put in that position again.

Clemson isn’t like the 90% of schools with realistic expectations. They’re paying a guy about $10M a year. You can’t do that and then complain that the FANS are irrational. They are the ones who want too much? Geez what are you SUPPOSED to expect for that amount of money? When you ask for that salary you’re signing up to be close to a natty every year (barring catastrophic injuries which we haven’t had). You don’t demand that salary if you consider winning half of a G5 conference to be the goal.

I said it was a theory. But look, are you saying you never heard the press or anybody else giving the credit to the coordinators? You must not read anything but Tigernet because everybody was doing it. All I know is he used to beat the bushes for the best available hires and now he doesn’t. Why not? We used to play the best QB. Very hard to believe we are still doing that. Why not?

If I recall we had 2 co-offensive coordinators that year. Our offense was humming. When Jeff Scott left is when the $hit the fan so to speak.

I think all of the theories are way off base. I think that Dabo pretty simply thinks that DJ gives us the best chance to win. I think he's wrong, but I don't think it is any more complicated than that.

I am going to say this again. If Dabo Swinney is not playing the QB that gives the team the best chance of winning each and every week, then he is betraying his players, his staff, his university, and his fans.
I do not believe this to be the case, but if it is, I cannot express in words how much he would fall in my estimation - and how quickly I would want him disassocited from Clemson University.
