As a baseball it makes me sick to see such poor fundamental baseball being played at the major league level...so few players hitting the ball to the opposite field even when pitched outside ofter...big Un poked a ball out to right with no effort...should have done it more often...let way too many leadoff strikes go by! Odd that poor baseball changes the nature of the game!

It might have cost them a game, but the Yankees still had a long way to go to win the WS.

Yeah. This was a hard WS to cheer for one team over the other. I guess I do dislike the Yanks more than anyone else, cuz I've always disliked the Dodgers too. I guess I just grew as a person a little and can pass on my weekly therapy 'til next week.
Hopefully LAD will sell off all their players now and fall down the order. Umm... maybe I shouldn't cancel this week.
Go Braves, Boston and whoever is playing the Dodgers and Yanks!

I didn't want either to win. As a Braves fan you can't cheer for either team. But as a Freddie Freeman fan, I just wanted him to do good. He did. So I was glad the Dodgers won.

Maybe, but the 5th inning is why the series is not going back to LA

say what you want, but Cole cruised thru the lineup several times and his own fielding and his teammates failed him miserably.
5 unearned runs in an inning, the most all time of any game ever played in MLB history, and in a world series elimination game???? Comic book stuff, comedy of errors.
But yes the Dodgers certainly did have the Yankees in a grind but simple defense, catching fly balls, covering 1st base, are just simple things that they whiffed on...otherwise those Dodgers have more work to do in an game 6 where they still need a closeout win. Never easy, Yankees gift-wrapped the series in a bow

The 5th inning, with all its errors, brought back memories of Little League games, except the "kids" were older. But their body language and reactions of the Yankees were just like 10-year-old Little Leaguers. lol

That was some of the worst fielding I have ever seen. It was comical and to think they get millions to look that bad. All that was needed was a showman and a tent and we would have had a circus!

Giving any team, much less the Dodgers, 6 outs

in any inning is a recipe for disaster.
The Yankees earned that loss with very poor play in the 5th inning. Yes the Dodgers won the game and the series, but it was all a gift from several key players in Judge/Cole/Volpe. Any of those 3 everyday routine plays are made, and 0 runs score and it is extremely likely the series is heading back to LA for at least 1 more game.
Those 3 players specifically will have a very long off-season to remember their last game. Not usual that you can look at any player or players and say that they cost a team the game, but there is no doubt that game was lost by those 3 errors by those players.
Hate it for them but when the lights shine brightest is when the best, and worst, come out in players. The pressure was more than they could handle.

Yes. You don’t see a flurry of errors like that. I was amazed.

The worst came out all year, they just overcame it with their bats. Couldn't do that against a better team so the pitiful coaching and execution was spotlighted.

well said. Outcoached, outplayed, outhustled, and out of the world series with a big ole L.
Fundamentals!!! Even at the absolute highest levels, it is all about the fundamentals.
