He has to write something even if it’s wrong. He’s probably right about the Big 10, although Fox may have a say in that. He’s definitely wrong about the SEC. We’ve discussed many times that having another team from the same state is not an issue (Alabama & Auburn, UT & Vanderbilt, Ole Miss & Mississippi State, Texas & Texas A&M).
Florida State and Clemson add value to the SEC, and that’s the driving force. They have both won multiple national championships, another factor, and the SEC wants them. Both teams would be the perennially stronger team from their state.
I’ve said several times that we’re not going to the Big 12. We would be better off staying where we are. If we are trying to exit the ACC just to go to the Big 12, then I would say we are being run by morons. I just don’t think that’s the case. We have something bigger & better up our sleeve.

Big 12 makes absolutely no sense at all and that's why it would never happen. If there is anymore moving as conference realignment Clemson will land square in the SEC. I guess that most Clemson fan have forgotten way back before usuc begged the SEC to let them in, the SEC wanted Clemson then. I truly believe that if our buy out of the ACC wasn't so expensive Clemson would have been one of those team that the SEC last 3 team that moved to the ACC, and bc of our high cost to exit the ACC, the SEC want bring in anymore teams until we win or lose our court case against the ACC. After that has been delt with one way or the other Clemson will be packing up and headed to the SEC, and that is what I absolutely believe, period!!! And the more that everybody is saying Clemson to anywhere, but the SEC only takes the heat of the SEC for suspicion of poaching!!!

It makes little to no sense to go to the Big 12. Travel for all our sports would be killer and for what? Maybe $5-10MM more a year? No thank you. I hope we are not that dumb.

I feel joining the Big12 would be a lateral move at best for Clemson. The SEC should pick us up as we would compete with the top teams on either side of the conference. South Carolina on the other hand is unable to do so. And South Carolina's fans love to hate their team when they are losing, which happens more often than not.

Greg Swaim is based out of Stillwater, Ok. Of course he wants to believe (and all of us to believe) Clemson is headed to the B12.

If Clemson goes to the SEC, that would be a serious mistake. Their culture is no where close to ours and their corruptness will guarantee our lack of success.

I think the only way to the SEC is Clemson pops back into the playoff scene this year and honestly needs to beat UGA. If we jumped back into elite top 4 status then the SEC would be on the hunt to add us. But we’re losing 3 games and not ACC champ then the perception will be that we’re heading back to 3 loss type team. There’s no payout really for SEC in that case. They’ve got plenty of teams that could be 3 loss teams in the ACC. But if we shock the world first game of season then we’ll jump back up in that top 5 status
