DJ is a team player no matter what, I don’t think he would ever transfer out in the middle of a season. DJ is grounded.

Well its either Dabo is worried about DJ leaving or he's worried that Cade won't be able to contribute as a freshman. Otherwise this move doesn't make much sense. Which of those two options seems more likely to you?

Hunter just wanted to come back to Clemson and we have a lot of slots open with potentially more to open after spring practice (don't see it myself, but who knows). Most scholarship openings than GA openings is the likely answer.

I see what you mean but I think DJ is a better teammate and person then that. If he transfers I’d expect it to be before the season. If he doesn’t he’d still have 2 more years of eligibility and his free transfer.

But I’ll be shocked if DJ isn’t the starter all year. Cade will get to play though, which will help him in 2023.

My guess is that's exactly what he's thinking.
I don't see DJU sticking around if it becomes obvious he's going to get beat out. Top recruits just...don't, these days. That may not even go past Spring.

Based on DJ's play in 2021, an NFL career after his jr or sr year is unlikely.
