Women's basketball coach

We haven't gotten word on any press conferences or anything like that, but I think (at least from what I am hearing) that the search for a women's basketball coach might be coming to an end.
There have been a few names bandied about, but I received a call yesterday evening from someone who covers the SEC and heard that former Florida coach Amanda Butler is in strong, very strong, consideration. I guess we will see, and as soon as I get the news about a press conference I will let all of you know. Just wanted to pass along what I've heard

She had 9 winning seasons out of the 12 she was a head coach , but you'd have to say that the overall results aren't splashy .
Regardless, if she is our new WBB coach I will welcome her and support her in all endeavors of Clemson Tiger WBB head coaching .

As I read her bio, my initial thought was that she "only" had 8 winning seasons out of 12 as Florida's head coach. Then I read your post, and realized that we would be thrilled with that level of success compared to our recent women's basketball history.

But I guess we are going for a coach this time who has had a lot of power 5 experience instead of a gamble on a mid major coach. And even though that record at Florida isn't great, those same records would be a massive improvement here at Clemson

She will be a great choice for the the program. She has to improve where we are now and has recruited a recruit rich Florida and South Ga area. Look for her to put us out of dead last in the ACC every year!

Considering she dealt with coaching against Usuck, UGa., UT and several other nationally ranked SEC programs, I think her record is a positive. Her results in Charlotte prior to UF tell me she knows what she needs to build a program. Butler was fired from UF and I would think Drad would have inquired regarding the dismissal, but Coach Butler would likely be a major improvement over the previous three coaches we had.
She will need a six year contract and a better program budget to achieve what Drad wants so I hope Clemson steps up and hires someone with her expertise and track record or better. A Mid-Major program coach likely won't cut it after fourteen years of poor results.

Why do you think Butler would be a bad choice? Since you clearly don’t really care how about enlighten us over the possible hire. By the way having had multiple losing seasons under three staffs what makes you think Clemson can hire a major name? I read UF articles about Butler’s career and she was not always successful, but she has a better overall record than anyone hired since Coach Davis.
