Maybe do returns like spiller did his first year instead of putting ETN on kickoffs this year OR redshirt? Then with Dixon and Bow in 2021 and redshirt ship? Thoughts? This is fun having this much talent. It’s not my job to decide- of course trust coaches- just doing fun fan-talk....

Etienne and Dixon are obviously 1 and 2. That leaves Mellusi, Rencher, Dukes, Pace and Bowman to compete for 3 and 4. We rolled with five backs last year and now we have seven. No way two of them don't redshirt. Based on what we've heard from camp, I'm gonna guess Dukes and Bowman.

Bowman will be here 3 years max with one of the top rbs taken in the draft.

I don’t think he’s the type of guy that gets red shirted. Not that I’m saying this will happen but I’d bet he’d transfer before he red shirted. I will come back and eat my words later if I’m wrong.

I'd keep him around this year. Too much crazy stuff going on. We need all the great players available now. He can get some valuable reps and then become #1 in 2021.

I have a feeling Mikey and chez might get kind of left in the dust with these guys, and then you have mafah and shipley coming in.

You never know, but I believe Bowman is too good to redshirt. We are truly crowded at the position and he's a freshman but his acceleration and top end speed are so incredible he'll play in more than 4 games.
Chez and Mikey are in a squeeze position. ETN & LJD are clearly the top dogs while Bowman is ready to blow past them.
It probably comes down to how fast Bowman learns the playbook and how well he learns to pass block. I think we may see a couple of these from him:

Running backs are the hardest position to translate to college. Hope DB doesn’t turn out like Feaster.
