Why I think Dabo prepping for a change

If you noticed last press conference, Dabo clearly said that DJ was “bad” last 2 games. In the past, he would always defend DJ by words like “he did his job” or he played “OK”. This language to me indicates that he is prepping everybody for a change. Do you agree?

NO! Dabo ain’t taking DJ out of the starting lineup. If he does big Dave will whip his ####! I hope the kid gets to play a few snaps before he leaves.

I’ve been thinking about this some. Do you think Dabo would allow a scenario where Cade transfer at the expense of a net zero QB (DJ) who has had 3 years, 2 as starter and has done nothing but hurt the program with bad play and brutal mistakes. How many turnovers had he had the resulted in points for the opponents? Has to be a record. I would imagine if DJ returns for his Senior season, you lose at least one if not both Cade and Vizzina. His death blow on the program would be complete.

DJ is NOT coming back. He graduates in December. He is ready to give up football.

DJ is gone. He’s not coming back. He will either transfer, try for the NFL, or retire. He will not be in a Clemson uniform next year id bet my house on it.

In a recent interview Dabo basically said DJ needed to play better or next man up, he was letting everyone know expect to see Cade early if DJ doesn't perform well.

Will another pick 6, a couple of avoidable sacks or lack of offensive production get him benched? Leading or not, will it just take a scoring drive or 2 keep him safe?

Why DJ was not pulled last year- he was by far( and sadly) the best we had. I suspect, based on the limited time we have seen Cade play, that we have the same situation this year.

It will be scripted this week. 3rd or 4th series we see Cade unless DJ is lighting up the scoreboard.

But in the same breath that he said “DJ needs to play better or we’ll bring the other guy in”, he also said “DJ is not responsible for stopping the run or punt protection”. Now, he has made plenty of comments about not having his head in the sand, so I am hopeful but skeptical. Dabo is loyal to a fault, and he seems very concerned about the young man’s psyche. Admirable, but concerning.
I still trust Dabo and staff to be aware of the situation and to play the guy who they think gives us the best chance of winning. Go Tigers!

No, Dabo said “DJ wasn’t bad at ND, he just wasn’t good, but he wasn’t bad”. I think that was just after the “We don’t have our heads in the sand” comment, which led me to think they had their heads buried somewhere. Hopefully changes are made, if, not, more of the same. Rinse and repeat.

gift wrapping TDs for the opposition

is OK play? ugh.... This is why many are questioning the guidance on the offensive side of the ball. If Cade isn't ready to play or is just not up to the 5* hype...... means Dabo and company have whiffed on two major qbs in a row.
