why would you need to hide/disguise a cooler full of beer in your workshop or patio?

More useful for 17 year olds than anybody else, to hide it from mom.

chisels.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-aero.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Dale's Hazy

1

Jan 15, 2025, 8:48 AM

I could drink that.

2025 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I didn't even know that existed and now I want to grab some for the weekend.

1

Jan 15, 2025, 8:53 AM

I have always been a Dale's fan so this seems up my alley.

ringofhonor-greenr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Useless. A case of Hazy in a cooler that sucks, that ice will melt WAY before

1

Jan 15, 2025, 8:52 AM

the beer is finished, gonna have to tip that over to drain out all the water.

Useless invention.

ringofhonor-greenr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm pretty sure the R value of the cooler went up.

Jan 15, 2025, 8:59 AM

I don't know by how much, but by some or are you saying they cooler they used sucks?

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-aero.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Those cheapo coolers suck, in general. It may be SLIGHTLY better, but that

1

Jan 15, 2025, 9:16 AM

ice aint staying frozen overnight. Still got no way to empty the water once the ice eventually melts anyways.

The invention sucks.

ringofhonor-greenr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm much more likely to do this.

I've got one of those cube coolers that the wheels fell off. It does fine. I also remember that we hardly every have people over so why do I need such a thing.

I dont understand these people.

Jan 15, 2025, 9:38 AM

You can buy one of those on sale for like $125-150.

Why take up a day+ of your time building one that is no better to save a buck or two?

2025 orange level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpgringofhonor-obed.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

One may not even save a buck or two, may hope to sell one.

Jan 15, 2025, 9:43 AM

But building stuff like that doesn't "take up a day" for most people building it. It is what they want to be doing with the spare time.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-aero.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I guess I'm looking at it like this

Jan 15, 2025, 9:48 AM

I totally get hobbies. A lot of people would ask a similar question about changing my oil. I enjoy it even though I could pay someone $100 to do it for me.

But that's an oil change. The car needs it, so I do it. I wouldn't take that time and do something else mechanical like rebuilding the transmission, because the car needs an oil change.

With woodworking/carpentry (and all credit to those who have real skills there---I don't), I can think of 400 projects around my house that I could use those same skills for and get the same satisfaction before using that time and material cost to build something identical that I could buy for the same price or cheaper.

2025 orange level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpgringofhonor-obed.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The folks that are good at it either already did the stuff around the house

1

Jan 15, 2025, 9:53 AM

OR are doing this to avoid doing the stuff around the house. As for me, I'm still quite green. I have all the tools needed to redo all of my baseboards in this old house, but I'm scared of making it worse than it is now. Somebody did a lot of DIY around here with just what they could find. I try to hide it with clutter.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-aero.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Couldn't you just put a cardboard box over it?***

I also like to drink about 24 beers when working with power tools

Jan 15, 2025, 9:02 AM

Finally an invention that keeps me from walking an extra 6 steps to the garage fridge.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

or you could just put your dales in an igloo or yeti

I for one am glad you are stopping. You are one of the most ignorant posters ever. You obviously think very highly of your own opinion, unlike the rest of us - RockHillTiger
