"My pleasure" is the standard used by women in South Africa. I have always found that to be very courteous and sincere.

"You should be!"

Just kidding ...

"You're welcome." Or, on occasion I have said, "I'm glad I could help."

For us old folks it is always "you're welcome" but that has gone down the tubes with "yes mam and yes sir" and cursive writing.

I feel like it depends on the situation

2

Jun 2, 2023, 8:47 AM

If it's a regular situation, a simple "you're welcome", "any time", or "my pleasure" works.

On the other hand, if someone thanks me for doing something any decent human being would do, I usually reply with "no thanks necessary".

When she says “thank you” I ask her if she needs anything else, and that it definitely was my pleasure!
