She pump fakes the throw back to the pitcher about 8-10 times before throwing it. Never seen anyone do that.

Guy working with Qualk says she has the yips. I would be running on her. They said that, despite that strong throw to nab a potential base stealer in the first, she spiked some in the warm ups btwn innings.

She’s thrown behind the runner at second quite a few times too. Threw out our only steal attempt today so I don’t think it makes it any easier to run on her.

She has Mackey Sasser syndrome. He was a big league catcher who always pumped a couple times before throwing to the pitcher. When they are reacting to a play it doesn't bother them. It's a mental thing. Same thing the catcher in major league had.

there were several times the ump ran down foul balls before the catcher could get to them and he would throw it back to the pitcher!!!

After watching just about every game on TV this year that was available to me for both softball and baseball, there seems to be a trend in softball for players doing quirky things during games to bring attention to themselves. Some teams have organize cheers and choreographed dancing in the dugout. One team had a pitcher who slammed the ball violently into her glove before every pitch. What was that all about? Like one player with the goofy hats, bubble maker and hawking the camera when the coach is doing his interview. Another player walks circles around the batters box after every pitch, stoping the game and bringing the focus to herself. There are other quirky things that softball players do to bring attention to themselves, rather than the team, but I am still not sure if I am seeing narcissism or is it just girls being girls. I know one thing, they sure are entertaining to watch!
