was anybody else surprised at our approach in the bottom of the 8th? I don't know what's on the bench as a pinch hitter, but we need one run (!). We stayed with someone who had 3 Ks, who gets her 4th. Then the one out hitter appears to be one of the "old school" slap hitters, and doesn't even try for a fly ball. I know it's easy to question strategy after it hasn't worked, but...

Kylee should have attempted a bunt. bottom line. A .200 hitter with 3ks on the night already. A lot has to go right for Texas to get us out on a bunt.

It looked like she was trying to draw a walk or something. Taking the 3rd strike really changed the momentum

She poked her knee out and was within an inch of getting hbp. Not sure if that was strategy or what. Just the way I saw it.

Yep. On strike 3 she stuck her thigh out hoping to get hit. Missed by 1/2 inch.

That "slap hitting" drives me nuts anyway. Same hitter stood in the and swund normally a couple innings later and hit a shot up the middle for a hit. Why didn't she do that when it counted. I hate slappers. Brockenbrough is a strong gal and can drive the ball. I have seen her do it. She needs to stop this trying to hit a grounder to the 3rd baseman every time.
