Completely wiping-out any and all remnants of Myrtle Beach would be a service to humanity.
Sadly Columbia isn't on the coast too.

Why would you wish that, even jokingly, on another South Carolinian? Or any other human being for that matter. Some of us are facing the prospect of losing our homes.

MyrtleBeach may not be your cup of tea but is an economic engine for our state. Many, many families come to the Grand Strand for all over to spend their hard earned money and I for one, am extremely grateful. Hopefully Hurricane Florence fizzles out just like the coots this past Saturday and she spares us.

If the storm hits SC where it impacts Clemson ...

it will impact Statesboro, GA probably just as much. Statesboro is only about 30 miles from the GA/SC line and closer to the coast.

If it takes the path of the majority it will be nowhere near Clemson come Saturday. Only one model shows it hitting in the middle of the South Carolina coast. If it takes that path I still think it will be gane by game time it's just the damage at that point but let's pray it first, curves back into the ocean and doesn't even hit land and second, that it takes more of a northerly track. I just pray it weakens and nobody gets hurt or God forbid loses their life. Hopefully people heed the warnings and get out of dodge.

Clemson is 300 miles as the crow flies from Wilmington. This cat 4 hurricane is 250 miles in radius, and growing. Clemson, and the whole state of SC will see very high winds, heavy rain, and high possibility of tornados.

Center of uncertainty cone says Wilmington, NC Friday 2am

This is a big and strengthening hurricane, and is expected to make landfall, and then dwell inland. If this is what really happens, it will strongly affect Clemson and the whole state of SC. The side effects of a hurricane, besides high winds, are heavy rain and tornadoes. I live in SE Virginia, and will literally have to drive THROUGH this hurricane to get to Clemson, and then face wind, rain, and possible tornadoes (in the upper deck) at the game. I am getting ready to call the IPTAY office to see how they intend to disseminate official information pertaining to this hurricane WRT the game.

This is the double header with ND, per the cancelation in 2015.
What a mess it would have been to play that night...

I'm not saying this game will be cancelled, but it's not the same situation as the ND game. For one, contrary to the belief of many, the storm during the ND game was not a hurricane. It was a ton of rain without question, but if a hurricane was to actually impact this game we'd have the risk of 40-50 mph wind, lightning, increased risk of power outages, and greater numbers of evacuations in other parts of the state in addition to all the rain.
