Ohio State is "the" university in Ohio. It plays second fiddle to no one.
Clemson is not (just being honest).
Ohio has 3x the population of SC and OSU sits within a major metro city. There is no major competitor within 3 hours of Columbus.
I enjoyed the Clemson spring game.

including me. No interest in all at going to see a practice. I haven't even watched the TV replay, not one play of it. And yeah, I have been a season ticket holder for decades, and went to 11 of the 14 games last season, including Tampa and obviously several other away games.
I did go to the baseball game that afternoon, just as I go to every home baseball game. Much better use of 3 hours of my time.

To each his own scooter, I did both on that Saturday. Loved seeing the recruits walking down the steps, high fiving the kids, signing autographs for the kids. Liked seeing the freshmen and redshirt freshmen getting their feet wet. Enjoyed watching Hunter Johnson go through his reps, as well as Cooper and Israel.
For those of us that don't get to go to 11 games due to jobs and just shear distance, I enjoyed the spring game. Will do so again next year too.

Us older fans are the ones that have been paying our IPTAY dues for decades. We give to the LIFE program and Clemson Giving. We may not be physically able to climb the hills and steep steps and there is nothing wrong with giving my tickets to family or other Clemson fans or selling them to other Clemson fans.

For me, it's almost 800 mile roundtrip. Worth every mile to tailgate with my friends and family, watch two baseball games and see the football get out there for their glorified practice.

20000 seats were not aVAILABLE SO ITS A TECHNICALITY. aLSO it is in the middle of Columbus a city and met area of close to a million. Now that said I was disappointed in the CU attendance but comparing us to them is just wrong. Also we tackled everyone. Their first string played touch

The promise of a Spring game is probably the only thing that keeps half of them from eating a bullet during the winter months.
We have clean lakes (Erie is filthy), mountains, good weather and beautiful women. They lack all four.
That's why they keep moving down here in droves and contaminating our area.

has about a half million people. Clemson has about 20,000. When you look at relative numbers, surrounding area, pop'n, radius of reach, etc., we are going pretty doggone good. I wouldn't worry about it. And I think we had "only" 30,000 last year. And won the title AFTER that.

Look, I understand his post and he shouldn't be attacked for it, nor is anyone a " coot " for expressing their point. I really thought we would have more too until I took the perspective of op that explained the population student body cnt etc.
However, we also have something else to contend with that no one else did. The Masters. Just guessing, I'd have to say that maybe cost 5-10k.
I do hope we continue to build to beat bama and uga in attendance. Bad comparison with tosu and Michigan and the real usc etc. bet we'll have more next spring with TL, XT etc.

Maybe Clemson had 20,000 fans that took a vacation during the spring game week. Many had money burning a hole in their pocket since so many won large sums after Clemson was through humiliating USuC, curb stomping OH31-0 State, and then beating the vaunted Bama for the championship. Personally I just bought a new truck and still attended the spring game. This help?

I can't lie. I was also disappointed with the attendance at the Spring game. Did not look like 50,000 people at all to me. The baseball attendance has been disappointing as well. We finally have a really good baseball team. Best team in years and there are a lot of empty seats. Fans should be supporting this team at a maximum level.

I bet many more people drank some buttweiser swill instead of the locally crafted and far superior RJ Rockers I had.
I am positive many thousands more people were listening to some kind of Bruno Mars or Garth Tritt horse manure than were enjoying some quality Ramones or Iron Maiden last Saturday too.
Shoot, there may have been more people buying georgia hats and coot shirts at their local Dollar Generals than there were at our spring game.
Please, lord, let's keep it that way. I know we have that trophy now, but Clemson Family doesn't need the fair weather riff raff showing up.
