Would the Clemson administration be so foolish to turn down an invite to either of the suspected super conferences, and say that we're sticking it out with the ACC???

With regard to football, our administration has repeatedly proven they will do whatever it takes to put us in the best position to compete and win. I don't see why that would be different here.

The administration will not say no. Clemson has proven that they are now taking all athletics seriously. I believe that President Clements has been good for athletics at Clemson, and the BOT seems to be on the right track as well.

Hahaha.. Duke at +2000 & SU at +2500 to B1G.

Can we get Wake and GaTech on that list as well?
I think the ACC is toast. As soon as the B1G adds ND and Oregon, Clemson and FlaSt are moving to the SEC.

B1G! Hear me out!
Jul 10, 2022, 12:21 PM

If we have to go to one or the other, I’d rather see us go to the B1G and here is why:
1) Geography doesn’t seem to matter as much so Clemson would OWN recruiting in the South for the B1G.
2) It appears that there will be more $$$ (alot more…especially with USC and UCLA coming in)
3) Better academic institutions that place much more emphasis on Olympic sports than does the SEC
4) Since geo tradition is now in the rear view mirror, many cool new schools to play
5) Conference affiliation has to do with much more than Sports, Academic alliances, library resources, grad schools etc.
I believe Clemson would have the opportunity to gain much more respect institutionally by the B1G schools
Just my .02 cents

A move to the BIG would really hurt recruiting. Plus, we have no history playing yankee teams.
SEC makes more sense for a many reasons than a move to the BIG.

Agree!
Exyankee needs to kick his crack and meth habits before it kills him. B1G is poison for Clemson. We’ve been playing SEC schools for over 120 years. Just join the SEC if invited, and move on…..

Us in the Big would immediately an enhanced home field advantage simply due to travel. One could argue the advantage is neutralized in the scheme of yhings but as to us, the outlier in the conference, I think it will always be exaggerated for and against us. Our talent on the field and sidelines should not see this translate into mediocre records, but I can imagine it would be worth 2 or 3 points.

I really don’t want to see our baseball team have to go up north anymore than they have to now.

Would be rough on player's parents to make road games in the Big Ten That could influence recruiting.

Can we get odds on getting out from under the insanely stupid deal with ESPN that Swofford got us into? I would rather see us stay in the ACC, but that is provided that we are not slowly killing ourselves due to the differences in revenue.

whereas tradition, pageantry and sobriety used to. When you have a conference where Rutgers plays a conference game on a Thursday night in Los Angeles you've got serious priority issues. Like we don't even pretend to act like education matters in the equation anymore.

I do not expect that Clemson would be invited to Big 10 due to AAU academic standards required for membership. Excerpt from WIKIPEDIA: USC & UCLA are both (AAU) members, as are some other PAC-12 schools. Clemson is NOT a member, and gaining membership isn't a simple process. While there are some ACC members that are AAU members, they don't have the football profile of a school like Clemson.
