Honestly, I thought that both Wallace and Muse would be drafted in the 3d or 4th round, and that it would be a toss up of which one come off first, but Muse's speed would probably give him an edge over Wallace...
I know that we have had some fans that just didn't like Tanner Muse and was always critical with calling out every mistake that he may have made. I'll even agree that there were times early in his Clemson career that he was out of place a lot making bone headed decisions before the game slowed down enough for him to wait and see before he reacted. But games played, and snap count experience slowed the game down for Tanner, and with that experience, it has turned Tanner Muse into a pretty dang good safety, and Brent Venables also believes that Tanner has turned out to be a really good safety for his defense, or Tanner wouldn't have been a 3 year starting safety on a BV defense, and for that to be disputed, is to say that BV isn't a good judge of his players or their talent, and I don't think there is a real Tiger fan that would believe such BS as that!!!
I will say this, for those that didn't believe Tanner should have been a starter, and were always being critical of Tanner's in game abilities, just go back to the 2017 season after Tanner became a full time starter and started 9 games that season. Just look at how BV and his staff graded Tanner, it shows that his game grades were continuously getting better just as they do with most young player making their mark and solidifying their spot on their team.
Tanner redshirted his freshman season in 2015, He played mostly on special teams in 2016 but had snaps that made him known in 2016. He became a starter in the 2017 season, and since becoming a starter, he has started 37 of 44 games. Tanner started 9 games 2017, 15 games in 2018, and 13 games in 2019 with a hamstring injury that kept him out of a couple of games. IMHO, Tanner Muse was a very good Clemson Safety that took a lot of heat bc mistakes at the safety position get noticed more than they do from about any position on the field. He took the heat from some fans and just kept getting better as a Clemson FB player without ever jawing back at critical fans the way that a lot of players will when fans are talking crap about them, but not Tanner, he just kept getting better and having special moments with his ability to make great plays as a Clemson Tiger, and I'm personally proud to say that he is a Clemson Tiger, and yes I did believe that he was going to get drafted and have a chance to play NFL FB, and I believe he will succeed as an NFL player!!! Go Tanner Muse, You will always be a true Clemson Tiger, and the best of luck to you young man with your new team in the NFL, Go Raiders!!!
