The combine is a joke. If the players do not want to be tested, they should not be there.

Don't they also do team interviews and such at the combine?

I'm pretty sure there's a lot more going on there than just the workout portion.

Totally agree. He served no purpose even showing up. Unless injured, they should tell them "no participation, then no draft. Go to XFL or unemployment line."

The NFL would never do that. You think the league wouldn't want Trevor Lawrence next year if he didn't participate in the combine?

Unfortunately, Tee Higgins is not Trevor Lawrence. Tee needed this combine badly. If he's hurt, OK. But if he's healthy, he cost himself several million dollars.

I don't know. He needs to run the 40 at some point but

he was probably going to put up ###### bench numbers so i don't blame him for skipping that. I don't know why he skipped the 40, but maybe he thinks he can put up a better number at his Clemson pro day later.

He went from like top-15 to 26, Or lower. Good luck Tee. They may not know it, but we know how good you are.

I'm sure Tee has an agent with math. But I was looking forward to him showing off his skills in the combine. IMHO, he hurt his prospects by not competing.

Its disappointing but I assume he will work out on Clemsons pro day or at some point for the teams. If he thinks he will get drafted as high as originally projected without running or doing any drills he is going to be disappointed.

Same ridiculous comments every year. Bosa says hello by the way. Combine rarely helps established guys like Tee. He’ll have his shot at Pro Day and personal workouts.

Maybe he has gotten off of his regimen and picked up a few ice cream pounds that he wants to get off before his pro day workout.

go back up. IMO, being a 1st round grade, he had more to lose than to gain at the combine. Now he will workout in a environment he is comfortable in with a qb he has chemistry with that knows how and where he likes the ball placed. As long as he has a solid 40 at pro day he will be fine.

NFL team owners and managers would be stupid to pass him over. Forget the combine. NFL scouts have been watching him for years. They know what he is all about. He is high on several teams boards.

a lot of guys are not doing workouts, but they are there to do interviews with teams. why risk an injury like the one the bama wr suffered yesterday. Burrow only doing interviews and he might be #1 pick. ultimately its their own decision.

Both for your ignorance of the NFL draft process and for bad-mouthing Tee Higgins. That man is a Clemson Tiger and will ALWAYS be a Clemson Tiger. In his time here he never once did anything to make Dabo or any of us think less of him. He put his body on the line in every game, won us a Natty and kept the train rolling of the best decade we've ever had. This fanbase should exist to support all Tigers, past, present and future for as long as they're around. Tee never pays for drinks in Clemson if I'm still around.
The combine is SO much more than the workouts they televise. Tee will meet reps from each of the 32 teams (likely) for the first time while he's in Indy. They'll get a chance to get to know him and the kind of person and player they'll be drafting. Those meetings can determine whether or not a team trades up a few spots to get a guy.
It's a crowded WR class but Tee doesn't have a lot to prove. Every scout has probably already seen him winning 50/50 balls and catching back shoulder fades in person. His body is his business and if he feels like he'll be better served showing off that body's capabilities at our Pro Day instead of the Combine, who the hell are we to judge? Every NFL team has sent scouts every year to our Pro Day for the better part of a decade now, same as the other elite talent-generating programs. It's essentially a second Combine, but one with Trevor throwing you the ball and Joey Batson yelling at you during your strength measurements. The measurement phase of the Combine produces numbers; those same numbers will be produced at Pro Day. No difference.
I love and watch the Combine and was a little disappointed I didn't get to see Tee show off with the other prospects, but that's his business. He's making decisions that will affect the rest of his life and NONE of us are remotely qualified to even comment on them. Good on him and I wish him nothing but the best. He's a Tiger for life.

Nice pulse, coot.

I have mixed feelings about this. I wish him nothing but the best no matter what his decision is. He has every right to make his own choices. I do think it is good to take a break to train and freshen up in order to make a better statement in the combine. However, if I was given the opportunity to show my skill to the NFL combine, I would be there and give them my all. Besides, unless you have a way to keep yourself up to par with play calls and routines, you may be rusty. But hey, this just a fan's speculation. Again, I wish him nothing but the best. GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!

He had ~6 weeks to recover from 2 physical games (and 2-3 additional games played) AND then prepare for the combine, some of these other players had a lot more time to devote to the underwear olympics and the 40 is very finicky to preparation and practice. He probably felt he could do way better at the pro day and I don't blame him.
