When I started Clemson, it was mandatory that you took ROTC your freshman and sophomore year. If you ever screwed around in your Military Science class or on the drill field, the Colonel would threaten to fail you and notify your draft board. Vietnam was not an option!

one that had a business of some type (branch bank?) & later a barber shop (around 1959-mid 60’s I believe) where James Spearman was the owner & barber.
He later formed the famous Mr Knickerbochers with Clemson grad Son (after having a clothing-shoe retail store earlier).

'64.started out in army for one semester, then switched to af for the last three, because the fly boys didn't have to tote an m-1.ironically,i enlisted in the army after grad school.stationed at ft. Jackson for three years-considered a hardship tour given its' location and i'm entitled to extra vet benefits as a rseult.

Guy on back row is out of step.
Those of us who drilled like this know why there are only two "fights" on the end of C-L-E-M in Cadence Count. It always ends on the right foot. Now, roll that up and smoke it.
Also some good sideburns in that photo.
