Clemson isn’t giving LSU any bulletin board material so eSECpn decides to help out by generating their own.

Been listening to Leaf all season long. He’s been on our campus, is a fan of the program and generally dismisses the SEC superiority narrative as empty-headed BS.

He must have drawn the short straw in August. Somebody has to be the person that doesn't pick the SEC.

He was bound and gagged coming out of the studio. Something about treason and no tolerance policy. I’m sure it’s nothing though.

What are you talking about? ESPN owns the ACC Network just like it owns the SEC Network. Both conferences are part of the same group.

Yes they do but one was given money for their fusball and the other for their basketball. I'll let you figure out which is which.

The ACC Tigers are the better team but there is no way they win by double digits. Leaf has fallen out of his tree.

Not even the most rabid Clemson fan believes that our Tigers were 28 points better than Bama last year, But in that game, when the Tide failed to match Clemson's adjustments, failed to score TDs in the red zone, turned the ball over and started taking risks they were unprepared for, our Tigers could have won by as many points as Dabo wanted.

That is not an exaggeration.

The same formula worked well against Ohio St even after we took 20 minutes of game play to match their physical intensity.

Please tell me why it won't work against LSU and their weaker defense.

Most LSU fans don't realize what the word 'Championship" means. They think it's what happens when you win every game. But Clemson fans have seen our Tigers climb the CFP mountain--a mountain twice as high as the BCS mountain. We know that no championship is won in the first quarter, or even the second. It will be won by the team that makes the last unmatched adjustment, which means that it will be won more by the coaches than by the players who execute those adjustments.

In the weeks leading up to this game, the players and coaches are practicing all the stuff in the back of the playbook that hasn't been used all year--and adding more stuff to it every day. And even more, determining the best situations in which to use it.

In the first Natty against Bama, I had a Bama friend text me that the game was over when the Tide had scored 17 points, because the Tide defense held the opposition to under 10 points per game. I told him to hang on to his seat, because the game had barely gotten started. The Tide did win, but they gave up 40 points doing it.

All in all, I think this CFP could go either way. I think it all depends on the first adjustments by Venables/Brady. Since BV has a long track record, I trust him to be the winner.

But I do worry about CEH catching balls out of the backfield. When I've seen him, he has looked better receiving than any college back i've seen in years, and he won't drop 2 easy TD catches like Dobbins did. BV sometimes doesn't prioritize stopping the underneath stuff, so he could be a dagger in our side all night.

Re: TNET: ESPN analyst picks Clemson by double digits over LSU

Jan 7, 2020, 9:46 AM

LSU is not going to win because Venables will have an answer to Burrow's "greatness". Trevor will have much more success against LSU than any quarterback they have faced this season because he is a better, all around quarterback period. Outside of a sometimes questionable kicker in Potter, our Tigers are overall just a better team than LSU both offensively and defensively. Additionally, playoff experience and the media "pulling" against Clemson to lose gives Clemson a strong incentive to prove them wrong...AGAIN. It will be a very close game indeed but Clemson will prevail 42-35. GO TIGERS!!

I honestly cannot believe how ugly the rhetoric has gotten around this game! It’s not do or die it’s a game for goodness sakes. There are millions more important things happening in this huge world than a football game! I love my Clemson Tigers... I hope this is a hard fought, fair game where both teams show their best stuff and nobody is injured...BUT WIN OR LOSE I WILL STILL LOVE ALL THESE SPECIAL YOUNG MEN AND COACHES WHO MAKE UP THE CLEMSON TIGER TEAM! ??????????????
