Agree! Finebaum is a confirmed idiot, particularly when it comes to Clemson! We whipped 'the best team of all time' in our last championship game according to Finebaum. He would like nothing more than to get Dabo out of Clemson for the sake of the SEC.
But it is also the blather of coots like Tyler that jump on Dabo when we have an off year. There is nobody better for Clemson, and Texas A&M is a coach's graveyard. Dabo is smarter than to jump into that mine field. A&M fires a head coach about every 5 years (3 years for Florida).
Clemson will be back on top with Dabo!

I thought the era of Dabo Swinney was OVER according to Bama loving Finebaum? He was certain our best days were behind us. Now , all of a sudden Dabo would be a great fit at Texas A&M. I think it is not Dabo Swinney that Finebaum does not like but CLEMSON University that he hates. Another so called expert that does not think Clemson belongs with the College Football Blue Bloods. They were everywhere when Danny Ford was our Head Coach.

A&M is interested. No doubt about that.
Lets assume a few things.
1. Clemson is changing conferences. SEC high probability.
2. A&M has the deepest pockets in the business.
3. From a pure logistical standpoint, A&M would be an easier program to coach in SEC than Clemson. It would be one of the biggest in conference, Clemson one of smallest.
I think A&M will talk and Dabo will give a serious listen.

Like I was saying the minute the Texas A&M job come open, I did say that Clemson nation would hate it, but that would be the perfect job for Dabo. He would have all the NIL money he could use, and he could probably out recruit any coaches in the state of Texas bc kids and their parents love Dabo Swinney!!!
Personally, I would be one of the saddest Clemson fans ever if Dabo left Clemson, but it will happen one day, and I pray that day isn't as close as it could be if the A&M job excites him and his family. Let's hope that Kathleen puts her foot down and says H&LL no we're not leaving Clemson!!!!

I don't think you will find any coach that will give you an absolute "NO" when asked a similar question. You never slam doors because you never know what the future holds. With that being said I think Coach Dabo's wishes are to stay at Clemson until he retires. But sometimes a minority of fans that want him gone if he does not win the NC every year can eventually wear you down.

I agree, I think Coach Swinney stays at Clemson University for his entire tenure as a head coach & it makes an even more incredible story in history.
The only way I think he'd leave is if it wasn't up to him (ex., if something impermissiable happened & the head coach takes the fall).
There's an extremely slim chance he decides to go back if "mama calls" for Alabama, but in all sincerity it's likely too slim to realistically consider.
Texas A&M offering more money than Clemson, for example, isn't the answer & it's not even close no matter how well Coach Swinney would fit in there or how well he fits at Alabama.

While I don't like the idea of having three (!) offensive coordinators in three seasons, Coach Riley might be a great fit for Texas A&M & it would be yet another tremendous opportunity for former Clemson coaches getting their next jobs as their first-ever head coaching jobs at yet another Power-5 program.
If they offer it to Riley, notably with his previous time in the state, I can't blame him for taking it. I'm still curious to see what he can do if he does choose to stay at least two total years at Clemson, though, make no mistake.

According to Finebaum Texas A&M has more money than Bama, Florida, LSU, and Georgia combined. What some folks don't realize now that Texas will be in SEC 2024 this is war btw TxA&M and Texas. The Big Money folks from both schools hate one another more than Bama/Auburn and Clemson/SCarolina and any other D1 rivalry schools in college football. Those two schools are playing chess and A&M knows TX has Sark but they will checkmate them with their next move.......stay tuned.

He also knows full well that we aren't sick of Dabo and vice versa. He's a pro troll who looks to create discord at every opportunity, much like our own phony Tiger Judge Keller dropping similar dimes whenever the opportunity is there to do so.

If Nick Saban retires, Lane Kiffin will be the first to replace him. That's already been established based upon Lane's relationship with Saban and the Board of Trustees at Alabama. Also, Coach Swinney is not interested in coaching elsewhere unless Alabama was to offer him the head coaching position. He made that abundantly clear many times over the years. So, if Lane Kiffin is replacing Nick Saban, then we can all count on Coach Swinney being at the helm of the Clemson Football program for the foreseeable future. Sports pundits like Paul Finebaum render their opinion as if it matters to others and many times their opinion couldn't be any further from reality.

Dabo might indeed leave Clemson one day, but I don’t believe that he, although playing the ‘letting the job market set the pay scale’ negotiations tactic, will privately consider leaving Clemson until after Clay Swinney has both graduated and completed his playing eligibility.
I believe that Dabo wants to establish a foundation for each of his sons to go into coaching, if indeed a coaching career interests any of them.
After fulfilling that fatherly duty, then Dabo might keep on coaching here; strongly consider going to another school if that school has a package that checks all the boxes (with compensation being one, but not necessarily the most important, box); or retiring and then giving politics a shot.
My preference would be for Dabo to coach here for another 15+ years. I’m waiting for IPTAY and Dabo to give me a call.

He already said on that radio show or one of the press conferences that he plans on coaching here for the next 15 years unless the AD and the board of trustees want to run him off, then he will go elsewhere.

Couple things:
#1 Dabo didn't say no
#2 I'm trying to connect the A&M dots here... How would Dabo be a great fit there?? Do you honestly think A&M boosters would accept his stance on NIL and the portal? A&M lives and dies by NIL and the portal bc they feel desperate to compete against Bama and LSU in their division. They have to. Look at the last couple recruiting classes since NIL. A&M has never had talent like that.
And let's not forget Texas and OU, their hated neighbors, will now be playing in their sandbox. A&M will now play 3rd fiddle (again) to those teams in that region. Hence more pressure for NIL and portal to stay competitive.
I just really don't see a fit here. Last time I checked, the boosters RUN A&M.
