1) have a good coach
2) have the coach build an identity around the team ("ugly ducklings")
3) have team know their coach has their back
4) have underachieving little ol' Clemson punch above their weight
5) have no worries about NET and Quads and all that crap because you've left no doubt

I assume we are 9 seed since we are playing the 8 seed, however this article neglected to mention Clemson’s seeding.

University of South Dakota alum and fan here checking in on your board to get input on the women’s game in Starkville Friday night. Looking forward to a first time matchup between our schools. Have no clue about your women’s team but the matchup is intriguing.
We play 8-9 kids with just one senior. She’s a good one but we are pretty well balanced. We shoot the 3 at a pretty good clip yet have the ability to go inside. We play really well as a team. I have to believe you are far more athletic but I guess that will play out Friday. I think it’s going to be a close game.
Looking forward to some banter back and forth this week.

And they were equally particular about Bizon.
Great women's program you guys have built. (Also impressive what Craig Smith did in his first year at USU)
. This is our first good year in women's since 2002, it's been Clemson's worst sport for over a decade but coach Butler has it going again in her first season. The team competes hard and is really tough defensively
