Reported elsewhere that there are three covid positives so far. An asst coach, support staffer, and a player (believed to be a receiver). Seems likely that’s EJ.

According to the article 2 out with COVID and another for COVID protocol. Most likely the 3 positives is misreporting stating a positive test instead of protocol.

Next sentence: "For the season, Williams had nine receptions for 66 yards".

I'm not sure these two statements can correlated.

If I had a nickel for every post on here talking about one of our WRs in the last 3 years that "has a bright future", I'd be a rich man.

Hard to tell if it's a regression to the mean, or if there's another reason why seemingly all of our blue chip WRs are busts.

Since 2017, we've recruited like 9 WRs and only Ross and Collins have shown any flashes.

And as good as Ross was in the 2018 CFP, he only had 1 100-yard game in 2019 (15 starts) and none this year. Similar to XT, fizzling out after freshmen year.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Do what now?

Dec 28, 2021, 2:59 PM

You said, "seemingly all of our blue chip receivers are busts".

Who are you referring to?

Ross was our leading receiver in 2019 when we had Higgins and Rogers catching a bunch of balls too. Did Higgins and Amari "fizz" out? Um no. And yoy do know Ross didn't play last year, right? Hard to say he fizzed out when he wasn't even playing.

You don't seem very knowledgeable of Clemson football. Are you full of crap?

All the NO vaccine folks will hate this, but, I believe that the majority of our society would agree that when we have a virus pandemic like we've been battling for about two years. Places that a virus has the potential spread like the covid-19 has spread throughout the world being the sole cause of death to hundreds of thousands without discrimination of age or race, but it has been that our older people are having a lesser chance of survival. Firm rules should be put in place to slow, or stop such virus anytime one arises.

The firmest rule should be, once a vaccine has been developed, and approved by the FDA just like anything else that's developed for the use of saving lives. Once a FDA approved vaccine has been developed, it should be mandatory that before any person is allowed in any environment like the work place, schools, retail stores, churches, any place where people will gather in small, medium, or large groups, those people should be vaccinated with no ifs, ands, or buts about it. And any non vaccinated person caught in these environments with OUT proof of being vaccinated, there should be a stiff penalty placed on them, and if they test positive of any variant of covid, they should be quarantined by the proper authorities at the cost of the person caught. And they must be vaccinated before they are released from their place of quarantine. That is the only way to drastically slow, or eradicated viruses as covid-19!!!

We have eradicated, or slowed diseases in this country before, and it can be done again as long as we never accept what is happening now with covid as the norm. Our countries leaders must be proactive, and we must be reactive with talking to our family, and friends that are pig headed and refusing the covid vaccine, and explain the importance of the vaccine in their arms. The vaccine gives them a 92% chance of surviving a covid infection, when there IS a 50/50 chance of living and dying with covid without the vaccine. It is truly is like playing Russian roulette with covid virus, and there has been thousand that has died bc they felt they were young enough and more than strong enough to fight off covid like a simple cold, or flu, and now they have been cremated, or put 6 foot under. Right now it is a choice, but the choice is actually a choice of living a long life, or risk dying like some, within days of contracting the virus bc of a not so smart a choice!!!!

What is wrong with you? How many times are you going to falsely state that all of these people contracting Covid are unvaccinated? It's all over the news, all over the sports articles...it's nearly impossible to not be aware of the fact that the vaccine is not stopping infections or positive tests. Yet somehow you continue to ignore all of that and post nonsensical crap like this.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: TNET: Clemson receiver not at bowl practice

You are right - vaccinate people are getting breakthrough infections. My brother was one of them. But he told me that if he had not been vaccinated he would now be “on Boot Hill.” The vaccine is a no brainer. I was reading about the years of polio. There was no politization of getting that vaccine and now polio is essentially eradicated in the US. We could come close to that with Covid if folks would just get the shots. But talking to those who refuse it, some of whom are my family members, is a waste of time in my experience.

My main two main issues with this whole thing…
1. I thought we just had to do this until the curve was flattened. No one signed up for this forever. We need to assume some risk in society and not shut down the entire country.

2. It’s the third rail to talk about improving health in any way but wearing a mask, getting a vaccine, and staying away from each other. Boosting our collective immune systems by improving diet, exercising, and taking supplements should be a huge part of the conversation.

Re: TNET: Clemson receiver not at bowl practice

Dec 28, 2021, 8:22 PM [ in reply to Re: TNET: Clemson receiver not at bowl practice ]

A Vaccine by definition keeps you from getting the virus. We do not have a vaccine. We may have an immune booster that helps us from getting deathly sick but you have been listening to CNN way to much.

Then you repeat the talking points that all the new COVID infections are the unvaccinated.

Why do we not get daily reports on the news every day like we were getting a year ago? How many deaths in year one vs year two?

Yes, I have received two shots and received the booster but I don’t fool myself in thinking I’m “Vaccinated”

I know this is not a political forum but stop spreading the false narrative.
