The only thing that I react to is with them dirt bags constantly saying something about Dabo's resistance to use the transfer portal. Don't these complete idiots understand that it's the transfer portal that has college sports as screwed up as it is now, and they will get bent out of shape bc Dabo has actually refused to dirty his hands with the very same thing that is destroying college sports.
It's also causing college athletic departments to waist $$$ MILLIONS $$$ of dollars in developing guys just to have them jump ship and take all the development they've gotten to another school over being called a starter than the #2 guy when the #2 guy usually gets almost the same amount of playing time as the starter when the depth is where the #2 guy maybe as good as the starter, but the starter has more time in with his coaches and the school...

Recently, they are losing quite a few HS recruits.
We also know, you're paying money to get those kids out of the transfer portal.
Makes you wonder, how long before the money dries up, and how long will HS kids continue to commit when they know your program is all about transfers.

This is spot on. With heavy use of the portal you get into an unstable cycle. The portal recruits cause your hs recruits to enter the portal causing a hole that you Ned to filll. Do you go to the portal to fill that positions need and another hs recruit leaves. How does that make sense, if your hs recruiting class is ranked in the top 10? Which it won’t be for long when potential recruits see that a portal recruit may come and take his promised playing time? The portal may save Brownell’s job and be of use to the baseball team where players leave early to go pro. But if Dabo’s system works as it has in the past, then i say if it ain’t broke then don’t fix it. Go Tigers.

The writer is a college professor and ESPN writer. Before jumping to conclusions, actually read the article. It sounds about right to me. I hope we are much better, but he has us ranked higher than we finished last season. We do need a proven second RB, and our DB are the likely strengths of the team. Our OC, QB, and offense are all still unproven.

Yeah, cugrad80, I figured the posts and reactions would be what we're seeing but if you read the article then it makes sense. It actually has a good track record.
The opinion part on the transfer portal rubs the wrong way, but Dabo made Clemson by slowly building sustainable depth. Sadly, those days are gone. True, we don't lose AS many as other teams do on average, but we have lost some.

What do these people know? Don't they realize Clemson has a team full of ballers, who are grinders 😂😂😂😂😂. Seriously not sure what to make of the team. No significant personell upgrades were made where it was most needed (Oline & WR). Coach Luke was a great addition but not sure he can turn a below average unit around in just one season. Not real comfortable with relying on freshman WR's for big contribution. As far as QB, not sold on CK2 or even OC Garrett. Defensively DC Goodwin has gotten better each year and the talent is there. Opening game against UGA will be a great measuring stick to see where they are. If another 3 or 4 loss season occurs might be time for some changes in recruiting philosophy or staff changes.

Coach Luke will get as much as possible out of our best rated Offensive line ever. I look for improvement in running lanes and pass blocking.
Hopefully we move the pocket often against UGA to keep them guessing too.
