11 is too high regardless of the team

11 wins is a sucker's bet. Don't take it.
EXCEPT this time.
I'd lock it in; I simply don't see two losses on the schedule with this roster & the schedule including being the only team in D1 to face zero opponents coming of a bye-week to rest & prepare (which we get before our most competitive opponent).
He's got a point about NC State & Wake being competitive, but I disagree that either of them are a "lock" which is essentially what the bet is if you're assuming ND is equally as favorable & going under 11 wins.
Never bet 11 wins is a good rule for bettors. Just not this time. Take the money. Take it all.

but no way do we lose both. The chances of us winning both are much higher than us losing both in my opinion. And Wake? Please.

I get the ND part. It's in South Bend, & they're legitimately the most talented team on the schedule, but Clemson seems to shine in the biggest games & this one if after Clemson's bye-week (& not Notre Dame's, either).
Two losses though, that's where I struggle. NC State isn't just a revenge game AND at Death Valley, but they're simply out-matched on the roster this year (if Clemson is healthy, of course).
Miami, I mean, I'll listen & I hope they're competitive, but I'm just expecting that one to be fun.
Two losses means no playoff. I sincerely think Clemson 2022 is a playoff team regardless of the schedule, but it makes the -10.5 hard to ignore.

“Clemson seems to shine in the biggest games.”

What is that based on?
Our biggest game last year was against Georgia, which we lost.
Our biggest game in the 2020 season was the Sugar Bowl against Ohio State, which we lost.
Our biggest game in the 2019 season was the championship against LSU, which we lost.
This isn’t to say that we haven’t won some very big games over the last decade, but to say that we shine in the biggest games is incorrect if we are talking about he last few years. Hopefully this season we reverse that trend.

Biggest games in the regular season, then? As in, the games they CAN prepare for on the schedule?
We lost to UGA last year, yes. When was the last time we lost to an SEC school in the regular season? I mean, I imagine it was UGA, but we've beaten teams immediately following a national title win, beat TAMU on the road, & even in the most-watched game in ACC history, while it was a loss, we broke records & utterly destroyed the same team in the ACC title game rematch. Those big night games with Louisville, or FSU when they were on top of the CFB world, not to mention the CFP & title games we DID win, including beating Alabama by more points than anyone since Saban got there.
I feel like absolutely Clemson plays into those bigger games better than most & certainly better than average enough to highlight when talking about THIS YEAR'S win total & trying to find two losses GUARANTEED to call it a "lock."
Again, to better answer your question, who do we more often lose to? Syracuse? NC State by a field goal? It seems to me the most elite teams lost more surprising games (like Alabama at TAMU last year or Ohio State vs. Purdue, Texas at Maryland, etc.) rather than the big ones on their schedule.
Still, the whole point is trying to find two losses on THIS schedule. Putting Notre Dame down as a loss, I mean, I get it, but coming off a bye when they're not, knowing it's the most competitive team on the schedule all summer & will be the most-watched game on the schedule, I absolutely favor Clemson, but again, even with a loss, gotta find another guaranteed loss. I'm only saying my opinion is this roster vastly outweighs the schedule this year in particular. I could be wrong & we miss the playoff by nature, but I put my bet down already.

I honestly, and totally feel that this team don't lose a regular season game. Our Tigers are loaded with talent, and the D will be a monster, and if DJ can't do well enough with his part with the team, unlike last season, Dabo has another QB he can throw in there, and DJ knows it will happen, he has witnessed Dabo pulling the starter during his time on the team, and he knows he will have to perform at a high level or step aside, and Cade already has more muscle weight than DW4 had when he he thrown in game as the starter!!!!

I hear you.
I think going undefeated is a monumental task. Alabama was elite last year but lost to unranked TAMU. We won a national title after losing to a barely top-25 NC State, & again after nearly losing to Troy at home. WEIRD stuff happens in college football.
But the bottom line is this is about locking in TWO losses for Clemson. I just don't see it. It could happen, sure, but a lock? Nah. Frankly if they lose one it more likely cements their will to win the rest, but immeasurables & x-factors aside, this roster is simply too competitively imbalanced against the schedule to guarantee at least two losses by December.

What makes you think DJ has improved? Did u see the spring game? Took him 4 drives to make a single first down. He had one pass that went past the LOS for a completion in the first half that wasn’t to a RB. Improved? Not so fast my friend.

To be fair, we did see some of it in the spring, but we also saw what he CAN do when playing closer to his ceiling... but somehow we all completely forgot.
Not Coach Swinney, to be fair, but we'll see.
Don't forget, DJU was the unanimously-rated #1 pocket passer in his recruiting class. He went head-to-head with Alabama's first-ever Heisman-winning QB and won for a championship at arguably the toughest league in HS football. He threw more yards in a game than Trevor ever did in both of his first two starts as a true freshman.
And last year he was atrocious... but we didn't exactly beg our offensive coordinator to stay, either. You mentioned the spring game, but DJU had more completions & yards than Cade outright (& I'd still argue the highlight was the defense's tenacity to rush the passer).
I get hating DJU. I totally do. All I'm saying is don't be surprised if he & this roster plow through this year's schedule & he or Shipley end up in NYC in December.

I feel better about our QB room than last year, for sure. I'm interested to see just how the QB situation shakes out, and what the outcome will ultimately be this season. I guess we'll know in a month, or two. Hopefully, we all are pleasantly surprised at just how good our guys really are.

Wake’s slow developing plays don’t hold up to elite defensive lines, too much penetration. We have seen this over and over again. I’m not convinced that Notre Dame won’t have a big drop off with their coaching change and new QB. Wolfpack will be the most talented team on our schedule, but we have them in The Valley with revenge on our minds. I see a “leave on doubt” game coming.

Wake doesn't have a QB change. They still have Sam Hartman. Dude is a super senior this yr just like Malik Cunningham at UL. Both will be a handful as this is their money year but I don't see it being too much for Clemson

Just thinking that we cannot be the only ones seeing the slow mesh concept is not gonna bode well for them. They have to be thinking of some change ups.

Look, first things first, remember the 11-win bet is one of the worst in sports betting. It's almost always a good one to bet under.
It's a bad bet so often that bet guides like him usually start with why it's a good bet against it rather than try to cite the losses & their likelihood.
It's also why I think it's such a good bet to take the over on because while he has a point about 3 potentially competitive teams, losing to at least two of them is simply too much to expect from this roster vs. this year's schedule.
Clemson will get to prove it, no doubt, but this year's squad is good enough to take the 10.5 & I sincerely recommend it.

"There is too much uncertainty with quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei."
Not with me....I saw a non-qb playing qb. A couple or three of his meager td's total were a result of acrobatic catches by receivers. Had they replaced DJ with Tyson last year we would have beaten UGA.
You can't win ONLY playing defense.

You must be joking? Replace with Tyson, and we beat GA?!?! That's insane? DJ had us moving into scoring position on the pick six drive. And Dabo clearly stated that INT was on Ross for not finishing the route and abandoning the fundamentals. In Fact Dabo said after watching the film that of Ross finishes the play he might have scored. Wonder what the outcome would have been if that happened. Sum it up for you:
2020-DJ with supporting cast healthy All American numbers
2021- DJ playing injured with 3rd/4th string supporting cast Offense sucked.
2022- Healthy supporting cast?!?! If so, watch the results! Go Tigers!

We are more prepared to act this year early if DJ is slumping. That's due to last years' experience and our improved back-ups. I think Cade will be playing often in certain situations from the very start of the season. If, God forbid, DJ is having problems Cade will be able to increase his playing time gradually or all at once. We're a play-off caliber team this year.

For win total purposes, we did not reach double digits last year

Only regular season wins count so we could go 10-2 this year, win the ACCG, win a bowl game to finish 12-2, and you would still lose the over bet.
