Kinda worried about where Gunn is at if we’ve already flat out given up on the kid

I took it like Dabo said last week in Weiz being the guy for shorter range and Gunn being the long range guy.
I assume that it's Weiz's spot to lose (short range) unless Gunn or others start killing it at practice and in the game. Hopefully Gunn will recover like Ammon Lakip and Potter did.

He will. We see this every cycle with great kicker moving on and new kicker coming in. The new guy struggles his first season and we all go crazy and then they keep getting better and by their senior year are doing great.

That's what Dabo has said about him, but, it wouldn't matter if he can kick 100 yard FGs in practice, if he can't kick extra points and at least 35 yard FGs he isn't worth the time that it takes him to run on the field, and that's just the way that it is!!!

Gee. I hope you never have a mental block. Or stage fright. Or anxiety. I do believe that someone who can perform extraordinarily well in practice can perform under pressure, given a chance. If the kid can kick a 70 yard fg in practice, hes worth putting some effort into. Not everyone can be perfect, like you.

He could never hit anything close to 70 yards in a game though because he has the kick trajectory of a 2-iron regardless of the distance

That is exactly what he said! At least Gunn is getting to run out on the field and kick the ball on kickoffs, and surely he should be be thankful for that. If he had screwed up as much as he has with most other coaches, when we seen him again it would be with another team, or at the very bottom of the depth chart.
The kid has a really strong leg, but if he wants to be the FG guy for our Tiger team, he should be spending his free time out on a practice field in the wind, rain, sleet, or snow and practice to where he can kick the ball through the uprights anytime, anywhere with one eye open bc he surely stunk it up when we he needed the most.

Yep, to much play in his foot, he needs to get that fixed, and there isn't a surgery that can fix that problem!!!

I told you guys before and I will say it again. They are trying to correct some issues with Gunn. Mainly, the timing of his kick after snap. We all know that the game "speeds up" at every level. Well, his speed between the snap and contact was still high schoolish. Furthermore, the angle of his trajectory was suited to clear high schoolers. That was pretty clear in the spring game when Woods blocked his kick. They are working on cleaning both of those things up. Don't know why the angle wasn't cleaned up before he got 1 or 2 blocked at Duke. But messing with a kicker's rhythm and routine is asking for trouble. Trouble requires patience and Tnetters have very little.

As far as know Clemson doesn’t have a kicking coach so who would be working with him.
