Disappointing, demoralizing or what ever you want to call it. The issues that worried me became real and they started with a new kicker, or was it the lack of protection? The second issue was whether our offensive and defensive line would be more physical and they were not dominant. We have now lost the last games because we were not physical enough and that has to change. The third issue was whether our wide receivers would be able to separate and be difference makers. The receivers were status quo at best.
We have a lot of work to do and it starts with holding onto the football. The fumble on the exchange between Klubnik and Shipley just cannot happen. Mahfa got blown up because the guard and tackle got pushed into the backfield and Mahfa had no chance but he has to hold on to the ball. Duke was not the pushover that we wanted to see and we will not learn anything until FSU comes to town but practice will not be fun today and if we are to become a good team, Charleston Southern will pay dearly.

Let’s see… we heard Iron sharpens Iron, but looked like butter on both sides of the ball. Dirt Raid??? Yep, everything went into the dirt quickly. On next game any starters need play all the way through the 4th quarter, if not then how can you get consistency? Kinda evident now why any media was limited in what they could see prior to the season. Now we know.

it proved that Clemson lost 28-7 to Duke Blue Devils in a football game.

Talking about metrics sounds like a stock broker explaining ridiculous losses in an up market. Our O-line and WRs are mediocre. But we don’t need the portal. Those 11th and 12th best recruiting classes are going to make us the best team in the country. Sigh.

There were over a dozen portal players that were stars in the FSU/LSU game. The portal is here to stay and some coaches are utilizing it to their teams advantage. Some coaches would rather quit than adapt.

If this O line doesn’t grow a pair and get nasty, FSU and ND won’t just stifle Klubnik and Shipley, they will crush them. And we don’t need injuries. This is unwatchable. Fix it quick Coach! Go Tigers!!!

football games. And until we get the fundamentals right, we’ll keep right on losing. The running game was the only aspect that worked last night. CJ Spiller’s getting it right. Everyone else has a lot of work to do.
The sloppy tackling was downright embarrassing, especially from a group with this much talent. I kept hearing Danny Ford hollering, “When we hit you, you stay hit!” (To be clear, he wasn’t talking about maiming anyone; he was talking about finishing tackles. I’m sure he was appalled at all the missed tackles and arm tackling last night.)

Agree with you on the fundamentals. But CJ has work to do too. Ball security is fundamental 101. And our RBs put the rock on the turf at critical moments. Yes the OL was blown up on the Mafah fumble, but with better fundamentals he would have hung on. RBs need to fix some things.

Was in the second half, after an anemic first half performance. We played like we weren’t ready. We clearly didn’t want it as much as Duke did. Conservative play calling, poor OL play, Cade needs more time, why aren’t we throwing to TEs, drops, turnovers, who is the special teams coach, felt like we were always on third down. The sky isn’t falling, but that was a disappointing road trip and first game of the season.

They run a two back set all the way down the field to the 2 yard line. Someone decides to go back to one back = fumble and missed FG. Someone is driving the car to the parking lot and Someone else is parking the car.
