For some reason he hasn’t been remotely as critical of this much lesser coach.

All we had to do was find a way to win one game in the tournament

Sad day in Tiger Town.
Monte has never won a regional game let alone advance to a Super. That's not gonna cut it at a historically strong program like ours. I think the proof (or lack thereof) is in the pudding. The trajectory of the program has gone down.
Time for new blood. But then again, if Coach Brownell is allowed to win only two tournament games in 12 years then you can imagine Neff will do nothing to fix baseball in his 1st year ever as an AD. Brad has the 38th highest salary in America, and he's finished in the top 40 twice in 12 years. That pretty much shows Graham will not pull the plug on anyone at this point.
I do expect Andrew See will be let go in a token move, and then a sternly written letter (with goals we all already know) will be produced by Neff.
Then we'll gear up for another year of much the same on the baseball and basketball fronts.
I hope for vast improvement in both sports, but I'm also not delusional.
Go Tigers.

After watching the selection show, Clemson would had have to of won the ACC Tournament to get in. One win versus North Carolina or Va. Tech. would have still left them out. The conference record was bad and the first 14 or 15 games of the season were against teams never considered for the NCAA Tournament.
Again, this team was worse than their record showed

You are correct about that. Neff can either move forward or fall behind even more. Do the right thing... not the easy thing. The direction we're going is most probably not going to change with Monte.

Well it’s time , no excuse not to clean house . Got to get somebody in here that can either recruit top players or at least develop the players. Monte can’t do neither

The Best Is Standard only applies to football.
Soccer is in good hands, golf, track, softball are all doing well, better than expectations.
Basketball and baseball are just flat embarrassing and something needs to be done.

Our current coach has had 6 opportunities to make the tourney and has missed it twice not; a 1/3 failure rate isn’t rare.

We were simply not good enough this year and that is that about that. Finishing 12th in the conference was just the killer but losing to College of Charleston twice and Coastal were the nails in the coffin.

On a brighter note, a Munster reboot is coming out. Nobody can beat Yvonne Carla as Lilly though.

Dark times for the baseball and basketball programs. I’ll always root for my Tigers, but in honesty I expect more of the same until these two coaches are replaced. Sad to me that it’s allowed to continue.
Despite the childish tantrums from a few TNetters, the Clemson fan base doesn’t generally express itself in loud vitriolic ways. I’m afraid this administration may be misinterpreting that for malaise when in fact it’s quiet disgust.
I see nothing to look forward to from Clemson baseball or basketball. Fans who call out other Tiger fans for lack of support misses the point that a bad product is put forward providing no window of hope for sustained improvement.

Brandon you told it exactly how it was and you need to send a copy of your article to AD Neff.

It seems that the hitting was fine, the teams' era must have been really high.

Makes no sense thought at the amount of teams with losing or near losing records that did make it!

You do know there are automatic bids? I see two losing teams and they’re both automatic bids.

Firing Jack was the right thing to do.
May 30, 2022, 9:48 PM
|
|
With the exception of two seasons, the program had been in decline from the day that Jack took control. And we hired a guy that other programs, including South Carolina, wanted and thought was a great coach. This is just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. But that being said, the program is significantly worse today than when Monte took over and there is absolutely zero rationality for maintaining this coaching staff. It is beyond time for a change!

It’s okay to admit you were wrong. No need to double down on stupid. 6 CWS appearances and 11 super regionals in 17 years does not back up your narrative at all.
Who else was coming for Monte? The Arizona rumor was just that and UofSC had their man. Holbrook was only in year 3 and would win the East and make a Super Regional Monte’s first year. Do folks on here still really believe that being worse than John Pawlowski (who had already failed at Auburn) at CofC made Monte a hot property? I assume it’s the same folks that supported the panic extension for Tommy Bowden because Arkansas was about to pounce.
