Types of Tnet posters.

1. All in for every Clemson Sport. These fans love everything Clemson. Love when our teams do well and are always supportive. They tend to get defensive when other posters, who think they are offering critical analysis, but are actually derogatory in their assessments of coaches and or players.

2. One trick tigers. These fans love one certain sport above all others. They are not against the other sports but can take the or leave them. These fans will get very annoyed at any criticism of their one sport. They may "disappear from TNet" during their off season.

3. Cult of Personality tigers. These fans love one coach above all others. Some are correct in that their particular coach has had major successes in bringing hardware and recognition to Clemson. Others are just loyal to their coach for reasons only they may know. These fans will torch your posts if you even mention their coach had a bad game. The more extreme examples will make up mythological hardware and statistics to pump up their coach. In extremely rare cases, one trick tigers will actually disparage the coaches and accomplishments of coaches of other Clemson sports. These cases are very rare, and regular Tnetters should not attempt treatment.

4. Not really tigers. These are chickens in tiger costumes. They can be spotted buy their chameleon like behavior, posting positive stuff to draw you in then posting (what they think) is clever veiled criticism disguised as support. They also tend to only show up after a poor performance by our tigers. They will be absent during our big wins and or a coot loss.

5. Other team fans (welcome). It is easier to give an example than a description. BretFSU is a welcome other team fan.

6. Other team fans (unwelcome). These fans show up the week before and the week after our game with their team. The more annoying ones (Georgia fans) show up all the dang time.

7. Wonder tigers. These are true Clemson fans but will also post other non Clemson related stuff. Fishing reports, supper menus, and weird stuff that is stangly funny and sometimes relevant. These TNetters have boat loads of points and you often wonder how they got there.

8. MIAT. These missing in action tigers used to be frequent posters that contributed heavily to this site. They have been on long, unexplained hiatuses.

9. BNT. These brand new Tnetters are finding their way around the board. Some will stick and some won't. It's just the way it is.

10. Police Academy Tnetters. Quick definition: If you've ever posted, "wrong bored moran", you're a police academy Tnetter.

These 9 words summarizes the op. T-Net would cease to exist if it was only "true tigers ". Last I checked , fan sites were supposed to be discussion boards.

#1 is a sunshine pumper. And while there are plenty of people who post nonsense to egg them on, a lot of the people on this board posting critical topics about our teams just want to see them realize their full potential and have success on the field/court/course/pitch/links/track/rink/mat/pool/etc.

And no, most of us aren’t delusional to think that the coaches come on tnet to take our suggestions, but the point of a sports board is to talk sports. How we could be better is a cornerstone on that discussion

I agree completely.

However, there are many who do not know the difference between honest critique and character attacks or blatantly stupid statements.

Why did we call a run on third and eight instead of a pass?

Why is player A starting over player B?

We're missing on recruiting or using the portal at such and such position.

Those are legitimate questions and critiques.

That coach is a stubborn dumb ### and should be fired.

That player needs to sit on the bench, he's lazy and not giving effort.

Those are attacks on character and have no place on TNet or any board.

I definitely care most about football because I understand it most. I watch men's basketball and keep up with the baseball scores however but never played organized versions of those sports so I cannot comment on what the coaches are doing if I wanted to.

The WonderTigers are the most elusive category of Tnetter by far, though....
