This is why I don't argue politics and rarely speak about it in person

Because people are so entrenched in their own beliefs you're not going to move the needle.
For example, I made the comment to a co-worker that I wish we could have somebody else besides Biden and Trump.
Dude went on a tirade about how Biden shut down ALL gas pipelines in the entire country.
Even with all of the reports I showed him showing Biden shut down the Keystone XL pipeline, this person got louder and louder about how I was wrong and Biden shut them all down.
The discourse in this country is absolutely awful.
What's the old saying? Never argue with a fool because they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
That's why I don't respond to most of the people on this board.

I had a similar conversation with a Trumper friend at Happy Hour years ago when he kept going on and on about how Trump single handedly fixed the economy and employment. I told him those numbers were already on the upswing before Trump. He flat out refused to believe it. So I pulled up a chart from the bureau of labor and showed him. He just kept saying, "I don't know what to tell you." Couldn't even say, "Oh, yeah, I guess you're right."

My comment was "please do not make that comment in front of your family"

last week taking it down. Catahoula® and I have discussed this before and I respect his position, but I don't see how there is anything to gain by "debating" with a large cohort of folks on here, so I'd just rather not see it and be tempted to "correct" someone who has no interest in reality. And, it is certainly not as if they are brining new information or perspective to the argument where you can learn something you didn't already know. That ignore function is basically a productivity booster.

I know what you mean. I have a family member who thinks Trump would be a dictator and it would be the end of our country as we know it if he were to get elected, despite four years of evidence to the contrary. Not liking Trump is one thing but good luck having a discussion with someone who flat out lives in an alternate reality created entirely by the media they consume.

If only the MSM actually investigate things and reported facts instead of being communist propagandists, people might know the details.

all existing pipelines? Or, better yet, how about a single MSM outlet that claimed Biden shut down ANY pipleline project besides Keystone XL, which was at LEAST 10 years from moving a single barrel of dirty shale oil?
Or is it just that you're lying again?

Excellent point - part of the communist playbook is to divide the people in 2 - always 2 sides and only 2
Keep the people fighting themselves on social issues and they don't see the strings and puppet masters
Abortion civil right movement Dem/Repub Womans movement LGBT.... Christian/Muslim Vaxxed/unvaxxed Green energy climate change ..........
