was Trump somehow mind-controlled into saying stupid things and not challenging Harris directly?
The very first freaking question was a great question for Trump about being better off 4 yrs, etc... Harris dodged the question. Trump was handed a golden opportunity to hammer her on not answering and jump on the biggest issue advantage he has, which is the economy and inflation. Instead he rambled on about something else she said...I honestly don't even remember. What I do know for sure is it wasn't the moderator's fault.
And that kind of miss was repeated over and over and over.
He had the 2nd worst debate performance I've ever seen...#1 was Biden in the last debate.
Harris didn't have that good of debate...Trump just had an incredibly poor debate. He was undisciplined to the point of questioning his fitness for office just on that point alone.

then yes. The moderators were arguing for Kamala against Trump, the questions were all skewed against Trump, and they added in dishonest "fact" checking against Trump but did not do so against Kamala at all.
Also, it's highly likely they gave Kamala the questions beforehand.

There wasn't a single surprise question.
As for "the questions were all skewed against Trump"....
Here's the first question:
"DAVID MUIR: So let's get started. I want to begin tonight with the issue voters repeatedly say is their number one issue, and that is the economy and the cost of living in this country. Vice President Harris, you and President Trump were elected four years ago and your opponent on the stage here tonight often asks his supporters, are you better off than you were four years ago? When it comes to the economy, do you believe Americans are better off than they were four years ago?"
How is that slanted against Trump? If Trump could have picked the first question himself, that would have been/should have been it.
Here's a really pro-Harris question:
"DAVID MUIR: We're going to turn now to immigration and border security. We know it's an issue that's important to Republicans, Democrats, voters across the board in this country. Vice President Harris, you were tasked by President Biden with getting to the root causes of migration from Central America. We know that illegal border crossings reached a record high in the Biden administration. This past June, President Biden imposed tough new asylum restrictions. We know the numbers since then have dropped significantly. But my question to you tonight is why did the administration wait until six months before the election to act and would you have done anything differently from President Biden on this?"
Here's another really slanted question against Trump:
"LINSEY DAVIS: Vice President Harris, in your last run for president you said you wanted to ban fracking. Now you don't. You wanted mandatory government buyback programs for assault weapons. Now your campaign says you don't. You supported decriminalizing border crossings. Now you're taking a harder line. I know you say that your values have not changed. So then why have so many of your policy positions changed?"

Trump performed very poorly in the debate, but the mods indeed fact checked Trump several times, but not once did they fact check Harris when she misrepresented Trump on abortion, IVF, Charlottesville and on his bloodbath statement.
Harris was not corrected on stating we have no troops in a combat zone.
It's paywalled, but check out if you can the WSJ opinion piece from Mark Penn, a Democrat and former Clinton advisor. He does not support Trump.
Trump lost the debate, but was it evenly and fairly conducted?
I thought the CNN debate was as the moderators didn't insert themselves into the debate.
It will be interesting to see if there is any proof of an attempt by ABC to put their hands on the scale, but Penn a lifelong and current Democrat who defended Biden to the bitter end has raised the issue that he has concerns about ABC's conduct.

I'm not saying it was rigged and Trump is delusional if he really believes he won.
Whether it was rigged or not, none of that caused his crazy rants, but I think it does matter how the moderators conducted themselves.
Harris almost assuredly would not have gone into animal consumption if say the debate were on FOX and the mods fact checked her 5 times and Trump 0, but I think folks supporting Harris would question the fairness of the debate.
Either fact check both or preferably neither as CNN did. Let the viewers and the candidates sort it out.
I think she would have won either way, but calling out Trump while never challenging Harris doesn't seem an even handed approach.

Dude, I was being sarcastic. Trump opened that shizzbag all on his own. Trump went down that insane rabbit hole on his own.
My point was that even if FOX fact checked Harris 5-0 to Trump, she would not have come up with something crazy like Trump did, but 5-0 ain’t even handed.
