Tackling???

I just sat and watched video of Clemson first two days of practice with shoulder-pads, I thought new Coach would teach these players something that has not been taught at Clemson in a VERY LONG TIME proper tech,when you tackle and PRACTICE tackling even with dummie your head belongs on the opposite side of the ball carrier to which the DIRECTION you are taking them down,this keeps the ball carrier from slipping out of tackles,so I do not like what I see as usual at CLEMSON ,Clemson won it's only National Chmpionship on a GREAT defense,how many times in the last 20 years have you watched Clemson on defense and say why can't they tackle.Obvious they are not being taught proper techniques un beleivable!!!!!!!!Show ME The Money

yup, this is a long time coming. Previous years Steele would just slide in a VHS on tackling and go take a nap under the bleachers, but this year we are actually teaching it.

at least that's what I've heard.
No one has complained louder than me about arm tackling and bump tackling over the past 3 years, but I do see improvement.
The LBs in particular are squaring up, using better footwork, committing quicker, pad level is better and they're exploding into the tackle - none of that bystander, traffic cop action like over the past 3 years.
They'll get there - one piece of building-block instruction at a time. Just give 'em another week or two.
