Still has us #1 though?

It's interesting, Pate also has Clemson rated #1 outright, but if you want engagement this is the way to get it from Clemson nation perhaps?

I disagree about Neyland, too, but I guess I understand his logic, & after all, it's just a list.

Much prefer being rated #1 on his other list for sure. Go Tigers!

He has us rated as a top-10 place to play nationally. This isn't any kind of slight at all.

EA Sports had us #12 last year, #6 this year. He's directly in the middle of their year over year rankings.

Pate has had his own show for years. He's been pro Clemson for a long time. He isn't handed an agenda ala esecpn. I respect that. Love AO52, but you're wrong on this one. Jmho of course. But I do judge my opinion when he was a small radio show. He's actually pretty knowledgeable on college sports overall.

I think Pate does a pretty good job. He just needs to add the “P” and lose the”Z” when pronouncing Clemson. Clempson, not Clemzen.

2025 purple level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No P in Clemson for me! It's pronounced just like it's spelled...not difficult!!***

Who really cares what another media Idiot has to say about Clemson. Usually whenever the Idiots like Pate has something to say about colleges and their sports programs, most of the time they don't have a clue of what they're talking about as it shows when Pate opens his mouth. Personally, I say screw him along with anybody else who thinks the same as he does about our beloved Clemson and our sports programs...

Most of the time Idiots will talk hoping they can get somebody to listen to the crap coming from their mouths and dripping off their chins!!!

What are you talking about? Did you read the article? This is what he said about Clemson...

"Great atmosphere. I've got no complaints," Pate said. "I also think that it's just a wonderful thing that we get to see that place in Week 1 this year. LSU going to Clemson. Not Atlanta. Not New Orleans...College football needs to be played on home (campuses). We get to see Clemson in all of its glory. So, release the balloons, Dabo, outrun his entire roster down the Hill, let's go."

He also has Clemson #1 in his pre-season rankings.

So, "Screw him" is what you want to say to the guy who has the team ranked #1 and the home game atmosphere ranked top 10?

You are correct. Places are tough to play when teams are good. I’ve seen 50 of the 70 power 4 schools. Trying to be objective, my top 5 would be:

1. Tiger Stadium-LSU
2. Neyland Stadium-Tennessee
3. Husky Stadium-Washington
4. The Swamp-Florida
5. Death Valley-Clemson

Honorable mention: Nebraska, Penn State, original Orange Bowl, auburn, Bama, Kyle field

Coolest: coliseum, horseshoe, big house, Folsom

Heading to Autzen this year.

It’s a shame that people that aren’t even “Clemson”, still think that releasing balloons is part of our tradition, yet we don’t do it because we are worried about all the bad things balloons are doing to our planet. Release the dang balloons again!
The cups from the concessions can’t possibly be better.
Go Tigers!

No, I am no environmentalist by any means and even I know how bad the balloons are for the environment. It wreaks havoc on so many animals, reptiles, fish, ect. It is so bad for everything. Until they can come up with a new type of balloon that isn't they need to definitely NOT do it. I do love it though and wish there was a way we could do it. Go Tigers!!

I do understand why people think we still release balloons. The best videos that can be found of our iconic entrance include them.

Bring back the balloons!

The last time we released balloons Pate still had hair and only 1 white t-shirt.

Here’s the answer, just a simple google search.

Yes, there are environmentally friendly balloon options. Biodegradable latex balloons, made from natural rubber, offer a more sustainable alternative to traditional plastic balloons.

These balloons are designed to decompose more quickly than regular balloons, minimizing their impact on the environment.

who attended Clemson-UGA games and many more over the Ford era can attest that Death Valley is quieter and less raucous than those high decibel days when the dominant Tiger Defenses were on the field.

Hopefully, Death Valley will return to glory days with Clemson jacking LSU on August 30. Go Tigers!
