They will bring eyes to the TVs in the coming years too. Cal and Standford each increase the value of our conference more than either Pitt or Cuse, probably both together.
Let's be honest here, with folks exiting the state of California quicker than Mexicans can cross the border to replace them, why wouldn't Cal and Standford try to get the heck away from all that political nonsense for a weekend every now and then?
BTW, I really don't care who they beat in the ACC and I'm not the least concerned that either of them will beat Clemson in my lifetime.

That's fine. When the ACC added Cuse, Pitt, and Louisville, it was definitely to lean into strengthening basketball. It's ironic since all 3 of those teams have practically become doodoo in basketball now. Just like Virginia Tech and Miami were supposed to strengthen the conference in football and haven't done much of anything for years now. Thankfully Louisville and Miami bring strong baseball programs, occasionally Virginia Tech and Miami will have decent basketball seasons, and Cal has funny memes, so that's been the small plus side to the last 3 expansions the ACC has made.

On paper the ACC has or had the potential to be a lot better than they currently are. Georgia Tech, VT(not sure what has happened there) and Miami have been a huge disappointment.

Everyone was saying SMU was the team from the new members to look out for in the ACC, but looking at all three teams Cal and Stanford look more formidable. Stanford was prédicted last in the ACC. Don't think so...

Consider the SEC for an example. If Texas and Oklahoma come in and both roll through the conference it will make the other teams look like they've been overrated the past few years. Same thing if USC and Oregon come in and dominate. It would be worse in the Cal/Stanford case b/c they were bottom feeders in the Pac 10.
