Some talk on the board tonight about WR

Let's be honest.
Our best WR is Williams, right? Does anyone disagree with this?
Secondly, everyone is saying that Collins is some great WR who has just been injured; step back.
Collins is solid but no difference-maker. If so, we would have seen that by now.
Williams is really good, and Randall and Turner might be really good.
We have no one outside of those who are any "threat" currently at WR.
If you disagree, then simply tell me how I am wrong.

Before this season is over, Collins will be discussed in a positive way on tnet ALOT. He hasn’t had a chance to shine with his hi school teammate calling signals but that has changed. He is the real deal.

He is the real deal. I hope your right. But as far as I've seen he is the softest boundary receiver I have everrr seen at clemson. The drops, the no-jumps for balls a tad overthrown, the penalties for looking so weak you get called on two In a row. At receiver?! Dang. Dude maybe is the Roddy white type. Late bloomer

A wr catches routine balls. Hand or arms. This leads to the other things like going to get the ball in the air or waiting for the ball to come to you. Maybe it’s just me but if you are used to catching with arms you are never going to get the ball at its highest point and a qb will not trust you unless you are clearly wide open. This jumps out to me with Collins

Totally agree, and Williams has a ton of talent but I question his breakaway speed.

But he was a big get when we got him. Randall is going to be good and we have two hi-potential freshmen coming in. If our wr room can just catch the ball, block when we need them to and create separation, we’ll be fine.

I'm going to guess that might be true for most teams.

Cannot disagree with you on any of this. Williams is the best play making wr as of right now, but I personally believe Adam Randall is "close" to another Mike Williams. He just needs to fully heal from that acl injury. I'm really excited to see what Ronan Hanafin brings to the wr group. The kid is big & can run like a deer (supposedly sub 4.5). That's something that can't be coached. Hanafin & Noble Johnson may be exactly what we've been missing the last few years.

I like our wr room. I don't like our depth at WR.
Hopefully, we have some kids step up this season(Stellato).
The FR will have to come in ready to play. They have talent for sure; but some players react differently to being forced into action before they are seasoned. Some go out and perform like it was H.S. Hoping we have some young men coming who can handle it.
Biggest thing for all of these WR's is "staying healthy"! Next biggest thing is; understanding they are going to be asked to block more and be more disciplined blockers. They will also have to be in really good shape(duh, I mean more than typical as I suspect they will have to run a lot).
I think we will all be looking at this group as a strength next season.
Can't wait to see it.

I also like some of our incoming receivers, but I can’t help wondering why none of them are rated amongst the top 40 receivers by the recruiting services.

PBT, I think what you'll see is the bubble abd tunnels work a lot better this season. Riley will make Shipley into a McCaffrey and the D will have to respect it.
Hopefully our days of experiments of putting Ross in the slot are behind us. We should have a true slot this year. If not on our roster, they're coming in the summer.
Saying, we finally have a little diversity. That will open up the outside for turner, Randall, and Han afin.

Shipley is good, but he doesn't have the physical abilities of McCaffrey. Just because they're white running backs it doesn't mean they're the same player. Coaching doesn't help top end speed or explosiveness.

WR statistics haven't really meant much these last 2 years sadly and kinda have no merit to make solid judgments on anyone. Really feels like a clean slate for the entire WR room at this point. Collins has been solid enough at times but not great. If he is going to turn it up a notch, this is the season to do it with a new QB and OC.

I'm not disagreeing with you. Just kinda stating that the potential of all of our receivers is just purely unknown right now because of QB/offensive limitations these last 2 years.

Cade Klubnick….. he will instantly make everyone look much better just by getting them the ball in a way that they can catch it. No more rockets over their heads or at their feet from 10 yards away. I also think that Coach Riley has a much better understanding of plays that are suited for success.

Three really good receivers is enough. I don't know that I'd call any of them really good though. They're okay. We need someone with real speed to.take the top off of defenses. I hope Stellato's injury didn't screw him over and he can be that guy. He was the fastest player on the team before it.
