Clemson beats them by like 1pt in the ACCCG? Does a 2 loss team that played in the Conference championship fall out of the Top 12 when ranked 8th? Do they fall below a 3-loss Bama. Miami sitting at 12th is guaranteed to fall out of top 12 when either Clemson wins or tge Big 12 champ is announced either AZ or Iowa St. Miami is out no matter what I feel like.

Exactly listening to them now and they are trying to see if that's possible. They definitely would put this to a test and try and leave Clemson out. Ole Heather just eluded to something like that

I would not think SMU would be punished for playing in the Championship unless it is some outrageous blowout.
If the committee left them out, then they would be sending a message that you are better off not playing the championship game. I think that is a precedent they don't want to set...yet.

The committee likely won't punish them for losing a close championship game (see TCU 2 years ago). They would slip 2 spots, max.

Please they made sure if Clemson wins the ACC then Bama doesn't get knocked out but Miami does. I think SMU stays in if they lose. Like they said Smu has to feel good win or lose.

the SMU QB got hurt the Committe might pull a stunt like last year with Jordan Travis getting hurt they might do what Sankey/ESPN "suggests" and use that as a basis to put Bama in over SMU.
