Shipley was great today BUT Mafah is the better back.

Shipley might be a better slot receiver excusing the Pitt drop.

Wrong. They are both great. Shipley TD run to take the lead was best run in a Clemson game since Trevor Lawrence TD run against Ohio State for 67 yards

When was the Mafah run today. I started watching the game late. I was coaching my son’s 8th grade football game today.

I would like to see Mafah and Shipley splitting carries based on what I’ve seen this season.

Shipley had 128 yards rushing. Mafah was great too with a long of 63. He had 6 total yards on his other 8 carries. That one run was a thing of beauty though. Imagine him behind a great OL in a two years?

need a better OL for Mafah to go crazy. Agree, he is a better true RB. With our OL/scheme, need quick/shifty rbs. I was really surprised we got mafah as we don't have the UGA/Wisc type OL/scheme. Our whole OL coaching scheme really needs a hard overhaul. It's been bad for a while.

They are both great. Shipley hits the hole quicker. But sometimes gets brought down by arm tackles and shoestring tackles. Marah however is fast too but is a beast to bring down once he gets going.

Just wish DB would give Ship a rest when he can. The guy is a work horse; he was the difference today. Just hate to see him pushed into another injury.
DJ5 owes him big time !

Completely wrong. I love our backs, but since you brought it up.
Mafah broke a run for 63 yards. Let’s look at the rest of his body of work: - one catch for minus 4 yards - Eight carries for 6 yards

Go back and look at the setup for Mafah on those runs.

Coaches didn’t put him in a position to make the plays. He seemed to be a filler while Ship rested. I’m not saying Shipley is bad. Today was clearly his best day and he is getting better. However, Mafah is a true RB and, with our OL, I think he gives us a better chance of sustaining drives and moving the chains.

I agree with you. I think Shipley is ok but Mafah should get more carries he moves the pile.

The staff wanted to Redshirt Mafah for a reason. Trust the coaches, right?
