Lost my dad about 2 and a half years ago and my mom’s dementia really progressed from that point on. She has not recognized family in about a year. It has been difficult to say the least. Mom somehow fell out of bed in her care facility this morning and severely fractured her C1 and C2. They have given her 1-2 weeks as a prognosis. If you get a minute please pray for the Lord’s grace and comfort for her and that she would not be in pain. She will likely be in the Lord’s presence soon and far from the limitations of this life and I will be happy that she will no longer be in pain, but you really don’t get to say goodbye with dementia. I have an amazing mom who raised my right, fought for me, cared for me, loved me... with every fiber of her being.

My prayer was just sent on your behalf as well as for your mother. I too have a mother in a care facility and we speak frequently so the loss is one I expect, but the Lord knows your needs.

My heart hurts for you. I lost a special aunt to Alzheimers and my Mom to cancer. I don't care how old you are, losing your Mom is difficult. Prayers that God wraps His arms around you all.
