Just an up-date on my Mom.
Mom is 101. She is progressively getting weaker and now spends increasingly more time asleep than she does awake.
After consultation with a Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner and with her recommendation, our family decided to get Mom into Hospice Care this past Monday. We want to ensure that however much time she has left, she is comfortable, pain-free, and has a reasonably good quality of life remaining.
When she is awake, she can be fairly alert, but sometimes she gets confused(she sometimes thinks I have a twin brother named Clonnie--God help us all if there was...).
Mickey Plyler has had Mom--Lena Wright--on his prayer list for some time. She still loves her Tigers and watched them play SC State last Saturday. I hope she wakes up enough to watch CU/GT tonight.
She has had a great life, and has been a wonderful sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. We just want her to have that Wonderful Peace these last days. She'll get to re-unite with Dad soon, and they'll be doing the "C-L-E-M in Cadence Count!" in Heaven.

This situation is always challenging. Hope your mother richly enjoys the time she has left. She has lived a long and blessed life so it sounds as if she is at peace. Cherish her and hold onto the memories and legacy she has created.
