He threw to second when he needed to go to first, then messed up an easy play at third. He makes those plays, we’re out of the inning with no runs given up

Yea I’m watching. Nothing wrong with the throw to second there other than it was a split second late. I haven’t seen Paino serve up any belt high 80 mph pitches while ahead in the count but maybe my stream of the game is delayed

Darden was bad and so was Paino. It’s that simple. We don’t have to find one player to blame. It can be both. Bottom line is Darden expects to have good defense behind him. He is a ground ball pitcher not a strikeout pitcher so Paino really let him down, not the other way around

Are you serious? Inning should’ve been over. Jarrell even yelled “ONE ONE” and he still threw to second. Should’ve gone to first and gotten the second out. Then he makes an error. He cost us all those runs. Plus against good pitching all he does is strike out. Webgems are fun and flashy but he’s not solid

6 errors in 43 attempts coming into today. .908 fielding percentage
Factor in an error today and a mental error and that’s atrocious. It’s not just about diving plays. Routine plays matter more because that’s what you get the most….. don’t forget about Gaffney’s glove at 1B and how many more errors he’s saved on Paino’s bad throws

Well, he sure could have atoned himself there. 4 runs and the only hit was a 1 out soft single by jj. We needed a big hit or at least a hit by paino.
