Our offensive scheme requires a terrific quarterback. Not average,

Not above average, but a Heisman Trophy contending quarterback. The throws to advance the ball downfield more than 15 yards are unbelievably difficult to complete. Think back to the only one long pass that we had on Saturday. It felt a little miraculous that it was completed. That is the problem. it is a function of our offense being so risk averse, that we are paralyzed. You couple the difficult routes along with our desire to remain balanced by running plays that really don’t fit our personnel, and it compounds the difficulty in moving the ball.
I am hopeful that the coaching staff will adjust. Go tigers!

Having a quarterback who could run or was even a mild threat to run helped us tremendously in the past. Cade is no threat to run and when he does he doesn’t convert.

They are especially difficult to complete when the receivers are getting no separation. Outside of Antonio and the TE that group was terrible and should be playing in the league with Elon. They are not showing any ability to get open and certainly no understanding of how to help Cade when he needs to scramble. Klubnik looks like a athlete who is constantly second guessing himself or holding something back. He needs to cut lose and play free but that also requires having somewhere to go with the ball that doesn't result in a turnover.Even Beck would find it difficult to throw to this group with people draped all over them.

It is not a coaching problem Cade has no instinct for when to pull the ball nad run. He does it by pre decision. He is a terrible rpo QB. You can't coach what ain't there. And believe me so far it ain't there with Cade. The coaching problem is with the WR's we need to let the freshman play, Randall and Turner are not consistent.

On deep balls our receivers often get separation, but cade under throws the ball resulting in no separation. Again and again and again. Tired of seeing this.
For deep balls, cade is weak with arm strength, accuracy, and consistency. We do not have a downfield passing game and every defense we play this year knows that.

The one to Tyler Brown that got picked
Sep 2, 2024, 11:28 AM

He had a step on his man down the sideline and the ball seemed to get hung up in the air. What could have been a big play turned into a jump ball situation with a 5’11” (in shoes) WR.

That’s the only one I thought he did, and even still, DB made a heck of a play as Brown is falling down.
Overall, I thought he was pretty accurate on his long throws but WRs didn’t make the plays.

Our scheme is out dated and stale. Easy to predict and diagnose. It's meant for west coast football. It will never be successful against the SEC.
I bet we hang 50 on Stanford.

Our scheme is poor. The opposing team seems to know every play because we run so few. The WR screen needs to be done away with but we continually run it with little effect.

Lincoln Riley uses a 3x5 index card. Dabo carries a 12x14 poster board.

Everyone blamed DJ now Cade , problem is lack of usage of transfer portal like everyone else. Either use it or be stuck in the Bowden era again.

You need a true dual threat QB in this offense

Cade is pretty fast in a straight line, but he’s not an instinctive runner and has no wiggle. We built this “Dirt Raid” offense around the read-option, but no one believes Cade can hurt them with his legs.

I thought that the Clemson offense is a lateral screen to the sideline. Fools the defense every time that they don’t line up 6 defenders in front of the receiver.
