They can be VERY good this year. They have a ridiculous amount of talent on defense and johnny Wilson can completely shift a defensive plan. They are GOOD. The only reason we think of them as they are is because they haven't been complete in a while.
Is Jordan Travis an NFL QB? Imo, no. Is he someone that can absolutely light you up with his legs and surrounding cast? Yes.
I get the frustrated crowd seeing FSU ranked above us, but it's warranted. They are our toughest opponent, not ND. Not sure why that would ruffle any feathers, let's beat the best team on our schedule.
I give our defense the edge, and until Cade proves he's in the same sentence as deshaun or Trevor, I give their offense the edge.
OL, FSU. DL, Clemson. This will come down to each teams CB and WR matchups. RB will be the wild card. Whoever passes better will win the game.
That being said. I'm so glad we have this kind of game with FSU again. Feels like the do or die we haven't had in forever.
See you in the valley, Noles! My best man (FSU alum) and I can't wait for the biggest game of the season.

I don't hate FSU, but they lost 3 games in the league last year. They need to prove it on the field.

Definitely. I'm saying I don't get why everyone is so mad that they are ranked over us in most polls. We did not look like a national contender last year and media thinks they do. We just need to beat them.
I just find it a little wild that they are ranked higher than us in nearly every poll. Makes it a much sweeter victory. It's been a while since I really cared about win over FSU

FSU feels like ‘08 Clemson …
Based on potential not performance….
Do I think FSU finishes 7-6 …no…
They’ll probably lose only 2-3 games - but their ranking is even more lofty than our ‘08 team…

I’ve been thinking this as well. They won’t likely implode like we did but who knows. There’s always a team that on paper should be great with pre season hype that flops terribly and it just feels like that might be FSU this year.

I wouldn't say that. I'm more of an evaluation guy and have followed depth charts, recruiting, transfer portal and development.
Maybe you just havent followed and have no idea how good FSU can be this year.

Very nice post. To be the best, you have to beat the best, period. FSU has a great history, great fan base, huge recruiting base but guess what, so do we. Games with FSU and listening to their band, that takes about 6 busses to get them the game, is just what college football in The Valley is all about. September 23 is a huge day, Go Tigers.

I don't hate them. I would love to see them back. But, I hate unwarranted hype. And I hated hearing all year about LSU's good loss to FSU and Clemson getting no love for beating FSU. On the road!

No one hates them. This preseason top 4 crap is ridiculous. Nothing they did last year warrants top 5 hype. I know portal yada yada yada, that still doesn’t give them a top 5 roster.
Last year NCSU and UNCheat the year before that, looked better on paper. They were over hyped as well. FSU is getting the same hype plus the bonus of having a history. I could see preseason 15-20 but not top 4.

In fact, I thought and still think they were a great addition to our conference and remain worthy opponents.
I just don't put much stock in any preseason rankings, which to me are highly speculative and prejudicial. They are, also, the reason why I have believed the CFP rankings need to be moved earlier in each season.
The fact is if the conference is going to stay intact with us as a member, we better hope FSU and other members' football programs improve dramatically.

The proof's in the puddin... They have to actually win some big games before I'll say they're back. Even if they have a better year this year, they will just be a flash in the pan. The portal potty will only support you for one year. It's a Band-Aid. If they can step up their recruiting, they can really be good in 2-3 years.

No hate from me. They have the puzzle pieces, but Jimbo Fisher had better pieces at A&M last year than FSU will have this year. You have to win to get respect.

when they finished ranked ahead of us last year. They were 10-3 and had a really good year, showing significant improvement from the year prior. They have some good pieces back, and I expect them to be a tough opponent for everyone (including us).
The talk about them not beating us in X number of years and all that is largely irrelevant to the upcoming season. They are our biggest competition in the ACC this year.

FSU represents a program that isn’t afraid to do what it takes to win at all costs. I think SOME Clemson fans are a bit jealous of the Noles because they have used the portal and not recruiting and development to get the attention they are getting. And being projected to maybe beat Clemson using the portal when Clemson won’t use it at all makes it more annoying. We just wanted a few wideouts Dabo!!!
