The coaches keep reminding us that the starter will be the best player all the way around and not just the most skilled player.
This means that KB has a great chance to keep his job because we all know he's the one that doesn't have the skill.

You are right: " KB doesn't have the skill." From watching the spring game today, it seemed obvious to me that KB is the third or fourth best QB on the team. How can there be any further debate?? My god, Bryant couldn't throw a football into a lake. What does it take?? He was hopeless!! And he's still our number one QB?? Hello! Mars to Clemson, Mars to Clemson! He is a terrible QB! How can this still be debated?? Do we want to lose?? Insane!!

I see a similar situations to Deshaun's freshman year, where Cole Stoudt kept the starting job even though everyone knew the talented freshman should really be the starter. And by the time the coaches made the change, the season had passed us by.

I don't know why some think that bc FSU has another HC, that they are no longer talented from top to bottom. Well news flash, they are, and regardless of who the HC is, they are not going to lay down and roll over for us to beat. We bring our A game or FSU can and will beat us!!!

It’s been proven regardless of how good a team we have or we think we have we are beatable by many teams we face. Pitt, and NC State that had that win without the muffed fg and then Syracuse. We have had several cardiac cat games that thankfully we pulled out. We do have one hell of a team, but nothing less than the best won’t get it done

As for my opinions on the subject, it's probably best that I abstain, and just say that I ultimately just have faith in and trust the coaching staff's ability to make the right decision. In Dabo we trust.

A lot of you guys are too young to remember when Clemson finished 6-5 in 1980, the mob was out to lynch him and one of the controversies was Homer Jordan was not good enough to lead the team. From what I remember, Danny got up on his TV show and had 2 announcements; the first one was he was the coach...period...don't believe the gossip...second...Homer was his quarterback...period---until someone takes it away from him....end of story...if someone steps up then KB sits down...pretty simple

KB is one of the best QBs we have had at Clemson. We went 12-1 when he was healthy, losing only to the #1 defense playing their best game of the season. He was the best QB we had last year. Without him, we would not have won the ACC, made the playoffs, or earned the #1 seed.
But TL is playing on a different level and he's only going to get better. We've got two more QBs who are more than capable of being the backup.
KB is far too good an athlete to sit on the bench. With degree-in-hand, if we don't play him, he can find someone who will. I hope we can find a way to get him and Lawrence on the field.

Please forgive me if this upsets you but, the 12-1 record was a total team effort, and several of those 12 wins could have easily went into the loss column... I personally believe we have another QB on our team that can win without a championship defense or offense as DW4 has done at Clemson!!!

I think you should check the defensive stats for the years DW4 was the QB. According to cfbstats.com Clemson defense was #1 in 2014, #10 in 2015, #8 in 2016 and #4 in 2017(KB). DW4 had very good defenses. Not sure what classifies as championship defenses in your opinion but DW4 had top 10. In those same years bammer was 12, 3,
1 and 1.

Anyone remember when we couldn't field a reliable QB? I love that we have 3-1/2 solid QBs we can fight over. Brice needs to limit those INTs to make it 4. I don't get a comfortable feeling with KB starting now, but when game 1 comes, all of them will be ready.

Pretty clear to anyone watching that KB earned the #4 spot for QB in the depth chart. I'm concerned that our coaching staff relies too heavily on giving positions to those who have the seniority, not the one holding the most talent. Time will tell. Answer me this: why did Alambama win the NC? Saban had the good since to put in the better QB.

Can somebody tell me where I can view the other 14 spring practices? It seems obvious that a lot of folks on here have seen all the practices to be able to judge that KB should not be starting. I would think you would have to see his entire body of work to be as sure as some seem to be.

Exactly, things are quite clear with what QB status should be and more things are obvious, if we don't get a true offensive coordinator and quit being so conservative and so predictable we will never show our true talent!
