Yeah...was at that game in Tampa in '79. Recovered from a 2-0 deficit and within minutes, SIU converted a couple of long passes into a header for the winner. One of the weirdest goals I've ever seen.

Championship in the early 70's....and lost a close game largely because our best player,---who, I believe was National POY---opted not to play.....he was Muslim and the game was played on their Sabbath.
Maybe someone with a better memory than mine can relay the details.

I did get to watch the 1987 Championship game at Riggs Field. That was a great win and I hope to see the Tigers get their third NC tomorrow. I played for Ibrahim for four years and am thankful that Clemson has such a great leader now in Coach Noonan. Good luck tomorrow guys. Bring it home.
