There is not an ounce of objectivity among many on this board. If you could see past the end of your noses due to hate blindness, you would see that (unfortunately) Muscoot is actually doing a decent job both in recruiting and coaching. And don't call me a coot ... nothing could be further from the truth.

Dabo knows he is leaving some quality players unsigned here in SC.
Good on him, Dabo doesn't lie to players like Joyner and Edwards and Belk in order to keep them from our rival. Muschamp told them what they wanted to hear. It's worked out for Edwards. The jury is still out on the others.
So Boom got his best lineman hurt, playing his starters in garbage time A) to pad their stats or B) because he doesn't trust his backups not to fumble away a 25-point lead.
Does anybody think he did Joyner a favor by bringing him to Columbia as a QB, then refusing to play him?
Who will start next year if Bentley--who should still be in high school but isn't leaving without a championship--enters the draft? Scarneccia graduates. Isn't Hilinski still a year away?
Dabo has given more QBs reps this year than Boom has.
Boom must have been trying real hard to build that résumé. You know, 22 wins and all that.

Always amazes me how many internet posters know the exact conversations college coaches are having with high school kids.

While I agree with you on the assumptions people make about coach conversations the reality is Belk was told what he wanted to hear. You had an availability for him to get more play time at a quicker rate than what he seemed to be getting at Clemson. I don't fault him because based on film from high school there was probably an assumption at Clemson he would get in quicker than was needed to develop him but I will still credit Dabo for not saying what is necessary (Saban) to keep him when the situation was not available.

What’s funny though is he very well might have gotten more playing in Clemson since there has been so many blowouts this year.

I could be wrong because my memory is shot but didn’t Dabo offer him as an athlete and the only reason he went to sc is they told him he’d play QB?

Dude, evidently you are unaware that kids talk to media outlets and post on social media.
In SC, there is this radio/internet program called SportsTalk where Phil Kornblut, a promoter-journalist-huckster-sports junkie extraordinaire, follows the athletic careers of SC high school kids from the time they are a blip on the radar screens of Clemson and USC. He also follows out-of-state kids the big schools are interested in. He has been doing it over 30 years, so he is buddy-buddy with HS coaches and ADs, reporters of all specialties, officials, school administrators, all-star game organizers, and college coaches from The Citadel to Clemson. He also talks to the kids directly at times. Trevor Lawrence and Deebo Samuel, for instance, talk to the little round man more often than they do their grandpas.
You can assume coaches' words are kept confidential if you want, but many of the players enjoy the limelight. Most of them use Twitter to stay in contact with their adoring fans and the people who want to live vicariously through them. Players and coaches usually keep a public schedule, so if Urban Myer is coming to visit, the whole school knows. So when DJ wanted to play QB at Clemson, and Dabo visited and said 'no', all of Summerville knew within hours.
Dabo didn't expose a private conversation. Joyner did. And it becomes very difficult to swallow your pride once you've shared your humiliation with the world. It created a perfect opportunity for Muschamp, which he took.
That's not speculation. It is well-known. It is not a conspiracy theory or a 'bagman' rumor. It came from the kid. He is an adult now. We are entitled to repeat what he said.

Record last year only due to the east being down.
Spurrier came in when the sec was stronger, his first year he had to play Alabama and Auburn during the regular season.
Stupid stat to compare, year to year is too fluid.
That’s a stat someone came up with to make themselves feel better about their crappy hire.

1-11 vs Top 25 0-3 vs Clemson (the state champion)
So those other 21 victories came from playing a robust, better-than-the-ACC schedule?
Right!!

could actually beat a ranked opponent (and was more often than not a good game day coach). He also had to change the culture there (one of the worst in all CFB). He just stayed too long.

I thought that NCAA football nation wide was not very good this year. I thought Louisville and Akron were two of the worst college teams I have ever seen;
I worry that talented athletes aren't going out for football as much as they used to. Fan attendance across the country is down to.
