Meyer doesn't get fired. If he does, I will never post..

in Pros & Other again. I really don't think he gets fired. I think he has too much wiggle room to squirm out of it. He will be back at practice within 2 weeks max.

I guess his wife can't testify against him, I'm not so sure he will be able to deny knowlege of this after what I read about him knowing about it in 2009 before he hired the guy again.

My understanding is a spouse can voluntarily testify against his or her spouse but cannot be compelled to testify except in circumstances that don't apply here.

If you substitute "knowledge of domestic abuse" with "knowledge of little kids getting hammered in the showers" then you may have a different take on this deal.

I kind of agree that he has some wiggle room

but the one thing that could bring him down is his cell phone. Him being a state employee that most likely has a state paid for phone, will mean all his phone records, including texts are available to be reviewed. If there is any record of him knowing as far back as 2015 that this guy was beating his wife, then Urban will be fired.
In the environment we are in today, no way that University let’s him stay. This will be similar to Paterno mess in terms of what he knew and when he knew.

Yup. It's also worth remembering that Meyer is a guy who isn't going to have a burner phone - he's been extremely outspoken about what the NCAA should do to guys who knowingly break NCAA regs to gain an advantage, and one of the things that enraged him most was coaches who did use burners for improper contact...fact is, Urban Meyer has never been a cheater. He's aggressive and will push the rules to the absolute breaking point, but there's never been a whiff of NCAA propriety around any of his teams and he's never had the rep (ever) of being a guy who buys kids.
Which means he almost certainly did use his university-issued phone to exclusion...which could well be the thing that hangs him.
Kind of sad, in some ways. Meyer's a stickler for the rules, in regards to his own conduct...but if you look the big problem for him in all his stops is, he doesn't self-police his own backyard very well and there are some dramatic discipline problems left in his wake. Aaron Hernandez was not the only bad actor he had on that UF team; that team was out of control when he left.

Does he have a personal cell phone? One he uses strictly for family and close friends? That would not be a "burner."

He's on paid admin leave, which I think buys them some time to figure out legally how to part ways with him and how much, if any, they'll have to pay him. I think he's fired (or "resigns") by end of the week.

Resign is the word... that way he can say "it was to protect The Ohio State University and the fine student athletes"....Fall on my sword...then ESPN will wait until the Playoffs and he will be swept into The Family... like a Mafia hit man who went to Attica and served his time and didn't squeal...

If he had second hand knowledge and did not attempt to make it first hand knowledge, that is just as damning.(Can i use that word)?
