MANGE WARNING: I have an unpopular opinion about

expansion and the current landscape. All this nonsense is really starting to make me care even less about college football in general.
I watch way less college than I used to. I suppose that’s part of getting older with the family and priorities. But I no longer make #### sure Saturdays in the fall are reserved for couch time. Hell, even with Clemson games these past few years, I’m turning them off once the starters are out…what’s the point? Where’s the suspense? There might have been 3-4 games that I watched the whole way through. No bowl games watched. Didn’t watch the NC game either, cause don’t care about Bama or OSU.
Now with expansion, the big boys are are basically chasing the dollar to become NFL lite on Saturdays. Broskis, I’m content to reserve football watching for a better quality of play on Sundays and take my Saturdays back. I’m sure I’ll still watch the first half or so of all of most of the Clemson games (really don’t care about a known pummeling of SC State and the like), but it’s basically minor league football now. And trust me, I couldn’t tell you much about Bowie or Norfolk as compared to the O’s.
Now, time to shred the chicken in the crockpot for my chicken and dumplings. You fine folks enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

My enthusiasm has eroded since HR caught the TD in Tampa.
I mean, summit Everest and tell me how exciting a hike at Table Rock is.

weird - I don’t really like the way I’m feeling and where it seems to be heading ….. but, alas, there it is.
Not sure how to stop it and not sure if I care enough to try.

It ain't the same. It's analogous to how awesome watching bowl games was in the 80's and early 90's when there were just a few until the advent of the 29th place Rotor-Rooter bowls ruined that too.

Family and life obligations have done a solid job of getting in the way, but at the same time, I agree with your sentiment about college ball becoming NFL Lite. The best and the rest aren't even playing on the same fields anymore. The difference in roster talent between say Clemson and Wake is ridiculous. When I first started watching in the early 2000's, every single ####### Tammy Bowden game went to the last minute and normally ended up with him blowing the game somehow. I looked up to these guys when I was in middle school and high school. Then in college, they were my acquaintances that lived a good life. Now I just look at the athletes and recognize them as being in a four year training camp veiled as academics.

I watch two games. Clemson and whoever we're playing next week.
I think the reason we've backed away from college ball is due to Clemson being solid. We know that Coach is going to play his cards tight to the vest but we know that in almost every game, every down we could score if Dabo wanted.
He is doing his best to thrill the fans but we're catching on to his ploy.

the aim is to make more money, not to have a better product of college football, in my opinion.
"super leagues"
more play off teams
the results will be the same, at least for the next 5-10 years
