was the turning point in the game. The recovery was big but the busted plays on defense is what gave them the lead.

the safeties. Maybe Mac finds a way to make a tackle, but I don't think he would've changed the outcome of that game.

Yeah we changed our coverage when he went out to having two on top high. BV did bad job coaching since he had Alex always alone and the defense formation was a departure from what we are used to.
Just my opinion too but I could be wrong.

to use our safeties in the run game and to help cover some athletic limitations of our linebackers. When he went down, our defense had to change to something they aren't used to.

Mac usually covers those routes, and dips a little deeper. Those two big plays, the safety bit on the draw thinking he had backup behind him. Mac would usually be there, or give the burst to cover some ground.

Agreed. I wish Mackenzie a full and speedy recovery.

If he turns pro, I thank him for for the time he spent at Clemson and wish him the best in his pro career .. if he stays, I'm stoked!!!

I still believe that with his game knowledge, it would have been less likely (because of communication) that the coverage would have broken down. But hey, what a team.
