Yep, it's a virus. That's what they do. They get around. Every variant subsequent to this one will be detected at Clemson and elsewhere, too. Same as every variant of the flu is everywhere, every year. By the way, have you noticed how they encourage you to get a flu shot every year? That's because the flu is constantly mutating, too, just like COVID. It's what viruses do. Both are with us for many, many years - the long haul.
Get your vax if you want to, wash your hands and take reasonable precautions for sure, and carry on. Let's not panic every time a new variant comes along or we'll be in a constant state of panic and fear.

Sure, with about a 2-10% fatality rate depending on access to care. Meanwhile adverse affects from the two primary vaccines is 0.004%
So the natural method will kill 2,000-10,000 per 100K with the"natural method" while the vaccine will give bad reaction to 4 people per 100K/
So the natural method is literally 500X times more dangerous -at best - than a vaccine. Not to mention that one is also twice as likely to die within a year after the "natural" method as well.
Thanks for providing an example showing how information can be .... well misunderstood. Pick any article there and we can dive into it. Makes me think of this:

Yeah keep touting fake numbers. I find it odd people that think like you also don't think why cancer, stroke, heart attack and other common deaths are all of a sudden at historic lows. Keep in mind that the CDC, WHO and FDA have been caught lying about adverse effects of the vaccine but keep on spewing the talking points the truth will come out. Not to mention what maybe less than 20 ppl worldwide last time I looked have died from the new variant, and in Adrica where it was first detected the cases have dropped drastically. So keep fear mongering. I know who the first ppl on Tigernet will be when daddy Government comes telling everyone to lineup. A number of bureaucrats and politicians only push the vaccine and not any therapeutics bc they have monetary stake in the vaccine makers. This is nothing short of insider training. You have ppl in Washington invested in the vaccine makers and what do you know the vaccine makers are the ones the people in Washington have given all our tax payer money to. These ppl are nothing short of evil and if you trust them you deserve what you get from them. The people getting sick are the ones vaccinated but keep spreading the vaccination lies. Pretty sad when Washingtin who has a monetary stake bbn in the vaccine companies mandate you get vaccinated from the vaccine makers they have a monetary gain in then pass laws saying you can't sue said vaccine makers when their experimental vaccine inevitably goes wrong. How convenient. Keep in mind that the FDA just said that the same papers it took them a month or 2 to review to determine whether to authorize the vaccine that now it will take I think 75 years if not more to release to the public. How is that for transparency. These ppl are evil, period. Unfortunately some of you wont realize it until you wish you hadn't listened to daddy Government. When the Government claims to know your health better than you it's time to be scared but some of you good little puppets love to have your strings pulled. You need to wake up and do some research. Some very nefarious things going on here.

All the deaths I know personally (7) have been fully vaccinated and boosters up-to-date. In one family, many got the virus, but the only ones that died were the ones vaccinated. Two of the four that were unvaccinated didn't even test as positive and they were the ones tending to the dying family members.
Coincidence? Possibly.
I trust patterns that I can see, and this "vaccine" isn't working. How does that definition for insanity go again?
As with all things, I believe the truth is somewhere in the middle. I'm not sure how they are still even calling this a vaccine when the numbers are so low for effectiveness.
I trust the government numbers on this matter about as much as I trust ESPN with ranking analysis...
If people want to keep injecting themselves every 60 days with the greatest new "snake oil", go right ahead. However, if anyone goes near my kids with one of those needles... they better be right with Jesus.

that they would still have to wear a mask, and they can still die of covid, and they could still give it to others... or that the vax itself can kill you.
I wonder what would they have to see to think vaccines didn't work? They literally do none of the things that they were originally touted to do. I've been telling people that mandatory vaccines, vaccine passports and permanent injection subscriptions were being mobilized this whole time. But people can't deal with it.
Ugh....

COVID-19 and those who haven't? I am only talking about those of us who have had COVID-19 and have natural immunity. That's an entirely different animal that this country continues to ignore for some reason, which countries like Israel and in Europe do not. This is something that I take great issue with, and it makes us (as in America) look at best mainly political and at worst incredibly foolish and unscientific in our decision-making.
The PhD Comics graphic is what it is, a comic--funny but not an argument. Just something sarcastic with a little bit of humor mixed in to hide the smugness.
By the way, since you seem to be assuming that I am not intelligent enough to understand this, do you mind telling me my academic background since you know so much about the person you are debating?

last paragraph with the graphic when he stated "Thanks for providing an example showing how information can be .... well misunderstood."
He claims that I misunderstood something when all that I did was provide a link to a page on the Brownstone Institute website listing 140 studies (not media articles, etc) that tout the quality of the natural immunity of those who have had prior infection. He assumes that I somehow misunderstand the information without providing a logical basis for his truth claim. Since he made a truth claim about me with presenting any evidence of such, he committed the ad hominem logical fallacy and his argument at that point was against me, not against the list of studies that were presented. "Thanks for..." reeks of arrogance and smugness, which unfortunately FutureDoc has exhibited over and over on this site. The PhD Comics graphic was the icing on the cake and served no purpose in furthering his argument except to pile on the smugness of the ad hominem (since it is essentially repainting my side via a straw-man fallacy by saying that I don't understand how information is mangled on the Interwebs).
So again, since he did not refute the studies that were listed in the link I posted, but then engaged in an ad hominem fallacy with a side of straw-man, I am justified in considering his words were against me and not the argument at hand in this thread. So, again, if it is against me, I'd like to know how he knows that I misunderstood all 140 of those studies, since he provided ZERO evidence that I did.

Groupthink is necessary to stay with the narrative.

Logic, math and the scientific method make it obvious that the vaccine debate is a feature of mass hysteria.
We see how low death/hospitalization is compared to other previous threats. Doesn't matter. We see how dangerous the "vaccines" are compared to previous (actual) vaccines. Doesn't matter We see how they skipped over long-term safety trials to ram this through. Doesn't matter We see how corrupt big pharma is and has been for decades. Doesn't matter We see dozens of scientific studies (conducted by experts) have repeatedly cast doubt on mask efficacy and vaccine efficacy relative to natural immunity. Doesn't matter. We see the "experts" with OBVIOUS conflicts of interest who get on pharma influenced corporate news changing the goalposts and outright lying to the public. Doesn't matter.
Sychophantic, midwit know-it-alls would rather risk their own children than admit they were fools. They can't give up being in the social pipeline, or their career goals. And they have to justify it to themselves so they readily lap up corporate/globalist propaganda, even when they can see the conflict of interest. They tip-toe in a little bit with specifics, but at a certain point are incapable of going on. Dismissive insults, or canned talking points take over.
Notice the people who freak out in service of pharmaceutical companies stick to editorialization over raw data.... and then suggest its a waste of time for non-"experts" to engage in raw data.
On top of that, when you point out the thousands of "experts" who are screaming at the top of their lungs that the vaccine debate is insane and dangerous, they dismiss them as fringe.
The dismiss anything outside of the mainstream bubble (big-pharma-owned politicians and corporate media) as paranoid or unbiased. They are completely programmed. 5 boosters, 10, doesn't matter. Their switch was flipped. That's it.
It's a peculiar element of human psychology that people can be so emotionally committed to things that are obviously trying to harm/exploit them. And it's being exploited perfectly by those with the means to do so.
That's why rational debate can't work with these people. It's mass mental illness. And they are so wrapped up in it, they will be blown away and see this claim as ironic. They truly can't fathom that their delusion isn't obviously legitimate. "How could ALL the experts be wrong and some rando on Youtube be right?" They will ride that flawed reasoning to ruin. History shows us exactly how susceptible people are to this. Mass psychosis is awful and it doesn't stop until it burns itself out in spectacular fashion.
The only hope is that the fast approaching totalitarianism somehow gets limited or beaten back in the US. But it doesn't look good.

I asked which study did you wanted to discuss. You have to be specific, not just list off a bunch of links. THAT is how information is misunderstood. It is not upon the reader to find your answer, it is how you to define and reference it. At this point, you have failed to even show your arguments information. You said that 140 studides agree with Manning_Tiger that " my entire family has had it and it was no big deal. Now we all have natural immunity" and is that supported" Show me - like they say in Missouri - where it says that.
I don't refute or need to refute the studies. I don't necessary disagree with each study's conclusion. However where does each of those 140 studies actually support your position. However, the way the studies are being wielded is an issue nor did your argument link the studies to the claims you have made. Might have as well pointed to a library as your "Proof" without actually addressing anything in the link?
You said ad hominem - where did I do it? Quote me. Where is the strawman? Where did broaded/narrow you (claims, or use a previous position). Because I said it the Brownstone scaterblast was an example if misunderstanding research? I did not - not you or a person. Can't be ad hominem. Because your argument is DEFINATELY tone policing (a type of ad hominem. "Thanks for..." reeks of arrogance and smugness", Saying that 140 studies without addressing the actual conclusions or relevance is definitely "hasty generalization".
Pull any article and I will dive into it but you have to do your own legwork because it isn't my job to disprove to make your claims. You argument is either valid by its on internal validity, not because I have 1 04 141 counter examples.
Show me in those WHERE in those 140 studies - and provide proper referring that Manning_Tiger that " my entire family has had it and it was no big deal. Now we all have natural immunity" is supported by those 140 studies.
Because this is the issue: The basic premise that there is "natural immunity" is a bit off. It is about immune response (What MOST studies in the group with a quick glance seem to be focused on), resistances, etc. Even vaccines only offer resistance. So the concept of immunity through infection vastly misunderstanding research - thus that comic.

The case fatality rate is less than 2% in the US. (1.59%)
Dec 20, 2021, 4:29 PM
|
|
That means the actual risk from infection is lower than that as we know about nearly all the deaths, but don't know all the cases.
That means there are a huge number of cases (half the people I know have never even been tested) that haven't been added to the ratio. Whereas.... we know about nearly every death. Not only that, because of the nature of the PCR test, and how Covid deaths are counted in many places, an unknown number of "covid deaths" have died from something unrelated to covid.

I responding here to the data question so it is seen - CSO - Cheers
https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/data/mortality
Globally, Covid is about 2-10% In some places it is lower in some places higher. The vaccine is nixing some of the risk.
What I am VERY careful about in the US is access to care. Sure, if individuals have access to care, it can be under 2% - trending down (will touch on that in a bit). However, Italy is a good example as their healthcare system early in the pandemic became overwhelmed. Rates spiked close to that of 8-9% as seen in places without adequate health care.
Thus the US depending on hospital access, mortality it can be a LOT higher. In addition, it also depends on age etc. But the other important item is that the vaccine drastically reduces the risk of death and we are in a mostly vaccinated county. Thus, we are seeing the impact of Covid vaccines dropping the morality rate. BUT you can't say that Covid (when comparing "natural infection" can use the current mortality rates influenced by the vaccine. Actually US mortality rate pre-vaccine was around 2% 1.9-2.3 depending IF I remember correctly. Again, this was temporal dependent because as cases rise so does the mortality rate due to capacity.

They depend mainly the major networks to find the stories. They will report the same stories, reworded from CBS, ABC, NBC, AP, and Reuters. Then they depend on affiliates from local TV stations to add to any original reporting by their limited staff. It’s just like what you see in the movie, a few people in cubicles on a single floor.

https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.06.01.21258176v2![]() Necessity of COVID-19 vaccination in previously infected individuals Background The purpose of this study was to evaluate the necessity of COVID-19 vaccination in persons previously infected with SARS-CoV-2. Methods Employees of the Cleveland Clinic Health System working in Ohio on Dec 16, 2020, the day COVID-19 vaccination was started, were included. Any subject who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 at least 42 days earlier was considered previously infected. One was considered vaccinated 14 days after receipt of the second dose of a SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccine. The cumulative incidence of SARS-CoV-2 infection over the next five months, among previously infected subjects who received the vaccine, was compared with those of previously infected subjects who remained unvaccinated, previously uninfected subjects who received the vaccine, and previously uninfected subjects who remained unvaccinated. Results Among the 52238 included employees, 1359 (53%) of 2579 previously infected subjects remained unvaccinated, compared with 22777 (41%) of 49659 not previously infected. The cumulative incidence of SARS-CoV-2 infection remained almost zero among previously infected unvaccinated subjects, previously infected subjects who were vaccinated, and previously uninfected subjects who were vaccinated, compared with a steady increase in cumulative incidence among previously uninfected subjects who remained unvaccinated. Not one of the 1359 previously infected subjects who remained unvaccinated had a SARS-CoV-2 infection over the duration of the study. In a Cox proportional hazards regression model, after adjusting for the phase of the epidemic, vaccination was associated with a significantly lower risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection among those not previously infected (HR 0.031, 95% CI 0.015 to 0.061) but not among those previously infected (HR 0.313, 95% CI 0 to Infinity). Conclusions Individuals who have had SARS-CoV-2 infection are unlikely to benefit from COVID-19 vaccination, and vaccines can be safely prioritized to those who have not been infected before. Summary Cumulative incidence of COVID-19 was examined among 52238 employees in an American healthcare system. COVID-19 did not occur in anyone over the five months of the study among 2579 individuals previously infected with COVID-19, including 1359 who did not take the vaccine. ### Competing Interest Statement The authors have declared no competing interest. ### Funding Statement There was no funding for this study. ### Author Declarations I confirm all relevant ethical guidelines have been followed, and any necessary IRB and/or ethics committee approvals have been obtained. Yes The details of the IRB/oversight body that provided approval or exemption for the research described are given below: The study was approved by the Cleveland Clinic Institutional Review Board. A waiver of informed consent and waiver of HIPAA authorization were approved to allow access to personal health information by the research team, with the understanding that sharing or releasing identifiable data to anyone other than the study team was not permitted without additional IRB approval. All necessary patient/participant consent has been obtained and the appropriate institutional forms have been archived. Yes I understand that all clinical trials and any other prospective interventional studies must be registered with an ICMJE-approved registry, such as ClinicalTrials.gov. I confirm that any such study reported in the manuscript has been registered and the trial registration ID is provided (note: if posting a prospective study registered retrospectively, please provide a statement in the trial ID field explaining why the study was not registered in advance). Yes I have followed all appropriate research reporting guidelines and uploaded the relevant EQUATOR Network research reporting checklist(s) and other pertinent material as supplementary files, if applicable. Yes De-identified subject-level data and code to reproduce the results are available on a public data repository. < https://osf.io/k7wtv/>

With that, the comparable long-term protection conferred by previous infection with SARS-CoV-2 remains unclear.
Methods We conducted a retrospective observational study comparing three groups: (1)SARS-CoV-2-naïve individuals who received a two-dose regimen of the BioNTech/Pfizer mRNA BNT162b2 vaccine, (2)previously infected individuals who have not been vaccinated, and (3)previously infected and single dose vaccinated individuals. Three multivariate logistic regression models were applied. In all models we evaluated four outcomes: SARS-CoV-2 infection, symptomatic disease, COVID-19-related hospitalization and death. The follow-up period of June 1 to August 14, 2021, when the Delta variant was dominant in Israel.
Results SARS-CoV-2-naïve vaccinees had a 13.06-fold (95% CI, 8.08 to 21.11) increased risk for breakthrough infection with the Delta variant compared to those previously infected, when the first event (infection or vaccination) occurred during January and February of 2021. The increased risk was significant ( P <0.001) for symptomatic disease as well. When allowing the infection to occur at any time before vaccination (from March 2020 to February 2021), evidence of waning natural immunity was demonstrated, though SARS-CoV-2 naïve vaccinees had a 5.96-fold (95% CI, 4.85 to 7.33) increased risk for breakthrough infection and a 7.13-fold (95% CI, 5.51 to 9.21) increased risk for symptomatic disease. SARS-CoV-2-naïve vaccinees were also at a greater risk for COVID-19-related-hospitalizations compared to those that were previously infected.
Conclusions This study demonstrated that natural immunity confers longer lasting and stronger protection against infection, symptomatic disease and hospitalization caused by the Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2, compared to the BNT162b2 two-dose vaccine-induced immunity. Individuals who were both previously infected with SARS-CoV-2 and given a single dose of the vaccine gained additional protection against the Delta variant.

Twice as many children have died from the "Covid vaccine" than of Covid. Just in case you didn't already know that: don't let your children get vaccinated if they are under 13. And there are strong correlations between teens and young adult athletes who have gotten the vaccine and developed enlarged heart or other heart-related issues.

My God you people are more ignorant and brainwashed than I thought. This is how the government tracks these things. It’s been accepted forever as accurate. Suddenly you don’t like what the numbers so now it’s not legitimate? Give me a break. You people wouldn’t believe the truth if it was slapping you in the face.

The fact that you still think Covid is this super serious thing despite all the data is insane and baffling. You clearly do not believe in science are looking at the numbers.
Covid is serious, but it is not white people made it out to be and I was saying that two years ago. The data has proven this has been more panic over nothing. Yes people have died but overwhelmingly the people that have died or either old or fat and diabetic. That is undeniable.
More people under the age of 25 die from the flu every year in America than have died from Covid. It’s not even close.
It’s ridiculous for anyone under the age of 25 or 30 to be getting a vaccine unless they have diabetes or they are morbidly obese.
Even most experts now agree that the world and America overreacted and did nothing that did anything to help Covid. Masking, social distancing, lockdowns, none of those things work. You can look at states like Texas and Florida versus California and New York and see that the results are basically the same regardless of the approach taken. Look at Sweden and other countries that handled it with a little common sense and did less than even in Florida and Texas.
God help anyone that he has you as a doctor.
Doctors hospitals to treat patients as individuals. Not as in statistics and certainly not according to what the government is telling them to do. People like you are simply morons and brainwashed!
It’s been two years and we’re still under 1 million deaths in America. And we know that’s not dying from Covid, but with Covid! People like you thought millions of people were going to die every year in America. Got the ignorance! Stupidity! The propaganda! And you think you believe in science. Lol

I lost my father to Covid so it’s kind of a big deal to me. He was also unvaccinated. Wish we could go back and get him vaccinated. Maybe he’d be here. I hate seeing people say Covid is no big deal. Tell that to my kids who will be without their grandpa this Christmas

So sorry about your father, Coleman. We are in a similar situation. My wife’s father got Covid and passed away in October 2020, probably 2-3 months before he could have gotten the vaccine. He was 82 but was in very good health. Everyone can have their own opinion. I just hate the name calling and belittling of others who disagree especially those who have suffered personal loss. And yes, I wish my kids could have their Grandpa back for Christmas too.

I’m sorry for your loss but please just stop

Roughly 1.6 million people die from heart conditions every year in America.
Roughly 600,000 people die every year in America from cancer.
800,000 people over two years that’s 400,000 a year. Most of those people would’ve died from something else anyway and are on their way to dying because of metabolic syndrome. Because over 80% of them were already old or morbidly obese with diabetes.
Covid is not killing young people. It’s not killing healthy people. It’s killing people that are old and already sick. So just stop! The way this has been handled has been ridiculous political propaganda it’s about power control and money! Open your eyes!
What do heart disease, cancer, and Covid all have in common? Look at the people that die from them. It is all because of diet and lifestyle. Everyone that has died from Covid had a vitamin D deficiency. Almost Everyone to die from Covid under the age of 65 had serious health conditions because of diet and lifestyle.
Individual stories are sad but they don’t change the statistics. If you’re not old, obese, or diabetic, we have almost nothing to fear from Covid. Vaccinated or unvaccinated. The data is clear. The fact that people still believe the BS and the propaganda about Covid is astounding when we have two years worth of data that is clear and unequivocal.
There never should’ve been lockdowns. Masking has very little effect. If you aren’t older and obese and diabetic you have nothing to worry about. If you’re under the age of 30 you have pretty much nothing to worry about. Kids have nothing to be concerned about. More people under the age of 25 died from the flu every year in America that have died from Covid over the past two years. That is a fact!
The fact two people still act like this is something to be feared and that we should be altering our lives and our economy and giving up our freedoms show me that you’re nothing but sheep that deserve to be brainwashed and manipulated by the government! You deserve what you get!

More people die from other stuff than covid. Sorry for everyones loss but it is just a fact of life. People get sick and people die. Not trying to be an ####### but that's just the way it is. How do you the vax wouldn't have killed your loved one before covid did? You can't play the what if game.

Sorry for your lose. Covid certainly isn't harmless. It also isn't something that should be dividing us. If I don't want to get vaccinated because I'm young and healthy I shouldn't feel forced to or belittled if I do not. If you want to get vaccinated you shouldn't be made out to be some dumb person who follows what they are told by the government. We all should make our own decisions and respect each other for them.

(1) Your family was lucky. My entire family also had it (the original strain) and 4 out of 5 of us were fine. But I ended up in the ER for half a day and could hardly breathe for a week. It was the scariest week of my life, and aside from being a little overweight I'm in otherwise great health. Or I was, anyway. That was in February and I am still experiencing long-term effects (minor ones, fortunately) 10 months later.
(2) Natural immunity is not permanent, as best as anyone can tell; and is far less effective against mutations.
(3) As wild as this virus is, you may have been fine the first time but there's no predicting how severe you'll get it the next time. You're playing Russian Roulette. That being said, all I can say at this point is that folks who are playing Russian Roulette with this virus are simply weeding out the gene pool.

#2 is not accurate and refuted by science
#3 is pure emotions and again not supported by science
If you have normal levels of vitamin D you have literally near zero chance of dying from Covid. Or even being sick with Covid.
The data is very clear after two years. We know exactly who gets sick from and dies from Covid. There are exceptions but those are rare. Unless you are old, high blood pressure, overweight, high blood sugar, you have nothing to fear. And even among those people Covid is unlikely.
Roughly 800,000 deaths in 2 years from Covid in a country of 328.5 million. That’s less than 1/4 of 1 percent of the population.
People are drinking the Kool-Aid and buying the propaganda and sucking up the fear #### exactly like the government and the media want!

That is what they do ... create panic so they can keep you under control.
BTW, I got COVID ... and I didn't panic. I survived. I have had the flu; I survived. My 80- year old mother tested positive for COVID; she was asymptomatic.
If you continue to panic and hide from the world, your life will be miserable or you become the Unabomber Karen.

Who's panicking? Are there riots to get vaccines and boosters? I mean, I know when I went to get my booster the other day, I had to fight through a raucous and violent crowd of...zero people. I think the most panicked moment of the day was when I had to move my foot so someone's grocery cart wouldn't run over it.
I also got COVID and it sent me closer to death than I've ever been. It also nearly killed my grandmother, and made her permanently bedridden which led directly to her death about 12 months later. So I'm glad you and your family were okay, but not all of us were.

After 2 years running now and the majority of the population still walking around, I don't think anyone should be panicking. I understand it's in people's nature to be overdramatic about certain things, but has literally played itself out and no dif than any other virus now. Most people like myself will carry on about their day and then there always be the ones that still freak out about everything that happens in life. By the way....0 deaths reported from this new decepticon variant....ZERO!

That's funny because all I hear about now are all these vaxxed to the max and boosted people getting covid. I have been around many people who have had covid and I have not contracted it. Oh wait that's because I already had it and probably don't have to worry about it like you vaxxers do. Maybe you should panic because I definitely will not. Sheep gotta love 'em!

The survival rate is over 99% for anyone under 70 years old. The "O" variant seems to be much less deadly, more like a cold. We will be fine. Just relax. Stop reading all the fear mongering, turn off the "news" and just chill.

If there had never been the original Covid19 strain and they Declared it a super severe strain of flu like in the past, would there really be a need to see the coronavirus that’s been around forever under a microscope to see how many mutations are occurring in this variant which everyone is saying much less severe. Should we be panicking?

They would have been wrong to call it a bad flu, because the flu is caused by influenza viruses. Coronaviruses have been known to be one of the causes for the common cold for a while, but for whatever reason, this virus is more transmissible and deadlier than anything we've seen in a long while. I've known too many people affected by it, particularly with long haul symptoms, to not take it seriously.

a good thing, in that it is considered mild compared to the other variants and is actually very helpful in the build up of immunity among the populace.
Maybe Clemson needs to unmask and allow it to make it's way through the student population.

Unmasking wouldn't cause it to spread faster. You can look at the data below to see how masks and staying apart didn't have benefit. https://www.covidchartsquiz.com/ COVID Charts Quiz Test your knowledge of how government interventions affected the COVID-19 pandemic.

was I saying we should direct the funds to football.
I was saying we could use the funds on good teams with actual coaching - you know - like soccer, golf, heck - even baseball because Monte still has 4 more years to get to the 10 year plan that CBB has had so far.
I'm sure there are others that would do more with it than our MBB has done with it.
@T_I_P - some help here ?

And this post is for all of the athletes around the world who died of myocarditis after receiving their mandatory COVID-19 mRNA vaccines. (Fatalities among soccer players in the UK represent a truly shocking sub-set.) Truly a tragedy that could have been avoided by focusing on timely and proper therapeutics for those who contracted COVID and were treated in the EARLY STAGEs of their infection.
God bless those young people that we lost due to the specious advice from 'authorities' who push the vaccine.

Clemson, quit trying to be as Wolk as the rest of the world. This new variant is extremely mild. The vaccine is not safe for children and is still questionable whether or not it's causing heart enlargement in college athletes. Drop the vaccine talk already. People are smart enough to make up their own minds.

People are smart enough to make up their own minds.
That's just it, though. They're not. Just look at your response (and others) in this thread.
Any talk of the vaccine or the virus is an outright affront to your political sensibilities. A perceived attack on who you are and what you stand for. The "woke" didn't do that. You did that to yourself.
I would say the problem is with you.

Dear stubborn_tiger®, neither you nor the 'authorities' are smart enough to make up anyone else's mind.
Even the mad-vax'ers beloved CDC has revealed their major screw up ... re: DEC_16:
People shouldn’t get the Johnson & Johnson Covid-19 vaccine when the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna shots are available, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Thursday. The recommendation, from CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky, came hours after members of the agency's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices voted in favor of the guidance. The panel convened following an update from the Food and Drug Administration on the risk of rare but potentially life-threatening blood clots linked to the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
Myocarditis is listed among the life-threatening causes from the J&J vaccine.
But but but ... the CDC had done the same (too short, not sufficiently thorough) studies when endorsing the Moderna and Pfizer vax's as they did with the J&J vax. So what has changed for the CDC to suddenly say 'J&J bad / Moderna & Pfizer good'? Studies / methodology were essentially the same. Now the CDC is starting to walk-back their previous recommendation because the multitude of anecdotes coming from the 'real world' are approaching legitimate data status. It won't be long before the CDC back away from endorsing Moderna and Pfizer; but they will wait until something like the Merck anti-viral therapeutic drug is approved for widespread use.
This is why those narcissists who believe that they are the ones who are 'smart enough' to make up someone else's mind reveal themselves as being foolish megalomaniacs.

The Omicron variant results in much less severe illness according to doctor reports world-wide and virology experts claim it’s actually a good sign and shows that the virus is weakening. So….let’s hope those Omicron numbers keep going up. Seriously, set your politics aside and “follow the science”.

here. they didn't say "AHHHH SHUT EVERYTHING DOWN!!! THE NEW VARIANT IS HERE!!!!"
no. just that it was here. that they had the ability to test for it. and that numbers are low, but will likely go up when students come back (stating common sense for those that don't have it).
Honestly, some of y'all need some #### help. You work EXTRA hard to see 'wokeness' and 'libbies' everywhere.
I think this would be good news to hear because if we don't see any increase in hospitalizations in the next weeks as the numbers go up, we'd be helping to prove that the severity of the variant is less...you know...more data point and such.

I do not want make light of the thousands who have died, or have had long lasting problems. However, here in WV 99.71% have NOT died.
Under age 20 only 2 deaths, and they are no longer reporting if people have underlying conditions. My bet is these 2 did.
Under the age of 16 we have had zero deaths. Insisting ALL children to be vaccinated is insane.
My wife and I have had our 2 jabs, our son at 25 is taking a pass. At his age, I would be taking a pass as well. Young women are reporting menstrual problems, and young men are reporting heart problems from getting the jab. Can we not respect what risk they are willing to take?
Our govt is demanding 2, soon to be 3, and the 3rd world front line people have had zero.
Anecdotally my underlying condition (seizures) has gotten worse after 2 jabs.
We do need to follow the science, but part of science is to ask questions. Unfortunately any scientist that dares question WHO, CDC, Fauci, and the rest, is shouted down as an idiot.

I believe this is a highly personal decision. I don’t think the government should mandate it nor do I believe people should lose their jobs if they don’t take it. For us personally, my wife and I decided to get the vaccines. Her father passed away from Covid in October 2020 before he had the opportunity to get a vaccine. Who knows if it would have made any difference. What bothers me the most is all the name calling and insults going both ways between people who have different opinions. The whole thing sucks and we should stop making it even harder in each other by fighting about it.

Which means nothing. Experts in other countries ( not of the big pharma payroll) say that this is very mild , almost zero hospitalization and will boast your immune system for six months. Most call this variant the end of Covid . The only one scared of omincron is pharmaceutical companies.

Wow, so people lost loved ones due to the common cold. Good to know. Two months ago, I had the same exact feelings as you. Then my father contracted Covid and sadly he passed. It’s more than a cold my friend. Each and every time someone says this, it’s really a slap in the face of those who lost loved ones. Can we act like Clemson men and get back to discussing football? I come here to get my mind off of losing my Father but this sure doesn’t help.

Totally agree. We lost my father in law last year. Yes he was older but he was still playing golf and working at Publix 4-5 days a week. Not obese or sick in any way. Got Covid and gone in 16 days. We decided to take it serious and get the shots. That is a decision that everyone should make for themselves. I’m not going to berate anyone who decides not to get it. That is their decision.
